Tony G has cleaned out his locker

NFL Network, expecting to be traded.

**********

Per Rotoworld
NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reports that there's an "80-85 percent chance" that Tony Gonzalez will be dealt to the Falcons this offseason.

Lombardi says Gonzo has already cleared his Chiefs locker in anticipation of a deal. The Chiefs lost their second-round pick in February's Matt Cassel trade and are reportedly willing to send Gonzalez to Atlanta for the No. 55 overall pick. Gonzo recently turned 33, but obviously can still play. He caught 96 passes for 1,058 yards (11.0 YPC) and 10 touchdowns in 2008.

If I were an NFL player I would clean out my locker at the end of the season. Why risk mold and mildew?

If I were a pro athlete, I'd clean out my locker and hold the team hostage annually until they fulfilled my request for my own dressing area, so I could shoot up juice, buy cars and beat women in peace for fuck sake.

Damn, dreading but expecting this day. Well, hopefully if he is traded, he'll retire a Chief. Thats all we can ask.

Well, this is an outrageously stupid move by the Chiefs.

IMO Tony G is worth a first rounder simply because he plays better than one. But his age and the long term investment of a first round pick won't get the Chiefs what they deserve should they deal Gonzo.

He's still the best or top 2 TE in the NFL. He's not a pussy either, he plays hurt all the time. Tony G is the kind of player that would put a team over that hump to make them a Championship team.

I could not endorse this move any more after reading this post.

I like getting picks but I'll miss Tony. As sentimental as I am wanting him to retire a Chief, the future's here baby and if we can grab a second well let's do it. It's kind of, let me reiterate, I think it's kind of what 49ers fans must have felt seeing Joe come here albeit Steve Young was waiting in the wings...

Whats up guys, I am new to the board....Well damn, Tony G is outa of here. I dont want to see him go, and I am not sure about this move. Why would the Chiefs trade Matt Cassles best target? and with our wide reciever core crap, why would you trade a guy that helps your wide recievers become better by taking the the safeties focus off of the wide outs and on the Tightend. The other side of it is , Tony only has 2 years left maybe, and if we can get a 3-5 year starter then I am good with that. Either way it sucks to see tony go...........Go Chiefs, Go Royals, Go KU....MUCKFUZZUO.. LOL

A low second round pick is not worth what Gonzalez would bring to the devlopement of Matt Cassel. If KC does pull this trade off, then the WR position opposite Bowe is a MUST to upgrade.

I would rather keep Gonzalez if a 2nd is the best KC can get.

If Atlanta is truly willing to give up a second round pick for Tony, then the deal is done. Pioli, given this point in Gonzo's career AND the "rebuilding" process we are presently engaged in....would be crazy to pass up the deal.
