The ****ing LAST thing this fan base needs is a white lunch pail asshole... AT ****ING RB.

Sorry, but I expect my RBs to actually have talent. It's just the way I roll.

Tolbert's the FAR more talented option of the two. **** Hillis in the ****ing neck.

Signing Hillis wouldn't be a mistake.

Signing Hillis to a deal we are stuck with for more than two years and not filling the 3rd running back spot with a quality player would absolutely be a mistake, though.

I would be willing to give Hillis a chance because he represents a low risk-high reward opportunity.

I like 'em both. Hillis has been a victim of the media and will come cheaper. He's the better option between the tackles on short yardage. Tolbert has better hands but so what? We have enough hands on the team. What we need is a guy that can get the 3rd and 1.

Tolbert's a bowling ball. He can absolutely convert 3rd and 1s as long as we ditch Old Man Casey at center.

If we don't, I doubt William Perry himself could convert that short yardage. Wegs and Lilja together did a lot to harm our short yardage game last year.

Tolbert reminds a bit of Jones-Drew, obviously not as explosive. but same sort of build, deceptive speed. Id love to sign the guy.

He didn't just quit because things got hard; that's not how it went at all. Call it what it was - a holdout.

If you call it a holdout from a guy that was getting pretty well screwed by a cheap-ass organization, it doesn't seem nearly as bad now does it?
What the hell are you talking about? Beat his body for 7 years for league minimum?

He was a backup in Denver for 2 years where he never touched the ball over 70 times a season. He was traded to the Browns in his third year where the Browns gave him a chance and he played well for 1 year. 1 good year and then he holds out.

Casey retired. BTW, Whitney Houston died too in case you've been under a rock.

I mean his 4 years at Arkansas as a fullback/blocking back, plus his 3 years as a minimum salary guy.

He's done yeoman's work for 7 years, took a hell of a lot of hits and has seen many a RB simply fall apart after taking that kind of physical pounding. He wanted to get paid before he hit the wall and I think he ultimately scared himself into getting the hell off the field.

As it turns out, it was a pretty lousy financial decision. But oddly enough, had he simply held out altogether, he'd have probably gotten a nice contract this offseason.

I'm just not willing to call a guy that was a D-1 fullback for 4 years and 7th round cap fodder that turned himself into a 1,000 yard power back a soft bitch.
