The first half of the 2012 season McCoy had him running a very conventional, slow, huddle-up offense. I don't think Manning is as adverse to running offenses he isn't used to as people seem to think.

Yeah and that scrapped it in game 4 after starting 1-2 and then falling behind by like 20 ... Peyton then went back to Peyton offense and, well, you know

That play works great when you need one yard. and there are no receivers lined up outside the box. Line a CB and LB up to either side and he gets his head knocked off. Your use of that play to try to explain that Manning can run a bootleg is hilarious.

Are you saying the CB or LB would not stay with the receiver if Peyton moved laterally? Sounds like an easy completion to me.

Peyton isn't going to run a bootleg offense. Too dumb to even discuss.

If Manning walks away, let's go see what Mallet or Hoyer brings to the table...
The key is to resign the young guys, keep as much of that talent as possible. Although, I could see DT looking at Indy and saying "Hello".

The only way I might pay to see a game next year is if Peyton Manning was running bootleg plays to Justin Houston's side.

I'm just not going to get all wrapped up in what's happening right now. I control 100% of none of it. So, we'll let the cards fall as they may and go from there.
I'd love to see my team win another SB, but I'm not going to let the success or failure along that path ruin the game for me. The ending of the last two seasons sucked, but the seasons were fun. On to the next chapter in this book... we'll see if the lead character changes, at some point it will happen.

It's not that Manning can't learn a new system. It's more a matter of does he want to given he has AT MOST one good year in him left. Does he want to spend his final season being the teacher AND the learner at the same time?
I really wouldn't if I were him. And to be honest, I wouldn't want to if I were the Broncos. I'd want to start the new system ASAP with my next long term guy, or at least somebody who can be there for 2-3 years. Manning is not that QB. This is a very confusing decision by Elway. I get that he wants Kubiak and has a plan and everything, but I also don't get that he WANTS Manning to come back if he wants to. |
