Most likely, though, it is for other reasons. Reasons that we will learn about sometime next season.

Last nights episode didn't really get very far or add much to the main plot. Quite honestly, I don't care about Charlie's past. It seems that Claire and Aaron have taken a back seat on the show. I thought that her original flashback episode with the psychic was one of the better ones. I'm surprised they haven't followed up on it yet.
As far as Locke and the statues go, I think that Locke believes that the statues are on the island for a reason, thus he doesn't want to destroy them. It was also somewhat out of character for Locke to beat down another castaway. He's usually a man of reason.

Is this season half over? I was thinking back and realized how much has actually been done this season.

I forgot to add, at the end of the episode they didn't say "stay tuned for scenes from next week's episode" they said "on an upcoming Lost..."
Does this mean there is another hiatus for new episodes?

Last night: Yawn.
Yet, predictable. The previous ep ended with that thrilling call by Jack to train an army. Which I knew would be resolved sometime around the first manned mission to Mars. And now it's probably going to be on hold for awhile. Wouldn't it have been better to take a break on the previous note, training an army? WTF do I watch this show? |

I thought it was good. It wasn't as good as last week's episode, but not every episode can be as good as that one. It is interesting that Locke is acting so different now. For most characters I would say the way he acted towards Charlie throughout the episode with the resultant pummeling would be just about right, but for Locke and his philosophy, it seemed way out of character. That combined with the preview makes me think that Locke is up to something. |

This show would be easier to follow if they would just do a non-stop season like 24. Taking a week or two off every 2-3 weeks is getting annoying.

The show needs more Sayid (or Sayeed, however you spell it). Locke and Ecko appear to be kindred spirits... I guess there's going to be a showdown between Jack and Sawyer over Kate at some point.
The whole Charlie deal with the baby was boring to me. Looks like the Others capture a person or two in the next real episode. There's a lot of dragging, but I've invested all this time into it that I'll likely continue to watch it. However, it has lost a lot of it's "wow factor" from last season. So, now we have the Others with Walt... the french chic, the dude from the race around the world and Michael out and about in the jungle. We haven't seen much in the way of freaking animals like the shark or polar bear in a while either.

When Charlie had his dream with his mom and Claire as saints, did anyone flash back to the Seinfeld episode with "You've got to see the Bayy-Beee!!!"

I don't mind that it's not nonstop action... I like the flashbacks, for the most part, but all the who-likes-who is getting a bit too sitcom for me. I did like Lucia's "you hittin' that?" to go against Hurley/what's her name's tip-toeing.
