This is so unreal. We were dead. No hope. A season over. Somehow, someway we find some team chemistry and squeak into the playoffs on the last day of the season.

Only to find us facing one of the best pitching staffs assembled in years with home field advantage. We somehow, someway find a way to beat the best pitcher in baseball on the road in an elimination game.

We have to go on the road and beat the team with the best home record in baseball. A team who mortgaged their future to make this run .We somehow, someway find a way to beat them on the road and make our 18th World series trip.

We take game 1, we give away game 2 and home field advantage. Albert goes off for probably the best performance in World Series history and we take game 3 easily. Games 4 & 5 our bats fall asleep, Phone gate happens and its not looking too good.

Game 6, one of the best baseball games of all time and it takes place in a season ending go home game. Cardinals are down 2 runs in their final chance on the season, twice. They are down to their final strike of the season, twice. They give up a 2 run homer in extra innings. In the bottom of the inning their final 3 batters are a combined 3-26 in the Playoffs and a pitcher because the bench is empty. Somehow, someway they get some runners on and the comeback player of the year drives in the tying run. Mr. Freese hits the walk off home run. We will see you tommorrow night.

Game 7, With our bulldog on the mound pitching on 3 days rest he is able to give us 6 good innings and get us to within 9 outs of our 11 World series title. Texas meltsdown, probably left over from last nights game and its over.

The underdog, come back team who had no business even being in the playoffs wins a World championship. They make movies about events like this in life. Events that you remember even if your not a fan of the sport or team for the rest of your life.

When it is your team.......Priceless

This has to be the hardest part or near the top of the hardest part of the schedule for the whole year.

We historically suck on West coast trips. We play 13 games in 14 days on the road. 6-3 so far with no Holliday and freese, Craig at 2B, Kouzma playing and Pujols still not clicking
We come home for 3 games and back out on the road for 9 games in 10 days. geeezzz

Still up 2.5 on the hot Brewers and 10 games over .500. Brewers getting ready to head out on the road to Red Sox, Cincy, Mets, Marlins and Cubs + us at home.

We stay in first place during this stretch we may actually have a chance at the division this year.

If we are going to have bad defense at 2nd it should be Craig over Skip everytime

I'll take a platoon at 2B with Descalso and Craig over Skip every day of the week.

Craig made a play up the middle against the Royals that Skip couldn't make on his best day. He ranged to his right, took on on the SS side of the bag and fired across his body to get the out. It was a very nice play. Skip wouldn't have been within 3 feet of that same ball.

It's become downright funny to see how many people on this roster are better at playing 2b than our 'core' second baseman. He's just a miserable waste of space and I truly believe its not an accident that the team has taken to sputtering a bit upon his return.

Here's the good news: His contract is up after this season BUT he'll only be at 5+ years of major league service time so he's still technically under Cardinal control. Rest assured - if LaRussa is back next year, so is Skip. Manning the pivot and sucking at everything, just the same has he has for 2+ seasons now.

Losing Pujols just to get LaRussa (and therefore Skip) the hell out of town seems like a pretty nice idea right now.

If we are going to convert an outfielder to 2B it might as well be someone with an upside. I just don't see the long term need.

I don't think nor does anyone else i talk to think Berkman will be here next year. I'd be okay with Craig taking RF but not giving the job to Jay. Jay has proved he can play for a few weeks or a month or two but not the whole season.

yep, doesn't look as confident out there. No faith in his curve ball. Hitters sitting on his fastball is a recipe for failure.

We were hoping to get one more year from Carp. I see Miller up in the 2nd half of 2012 and Martinez in the 2nd half of 2013.

If Salas blows a game, which will happen eventually, Franklin might get a chance to close.

How would that be a problem? I think he's fixed his stuff. If Tony just rides the hot hand, I'd have no problem with that.

Nope. I wouldn't want to see Franklin close games, but if he did, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

LaRussa just has to make sure he doesn't throw a guy like Miller in to close the 9th.
