She's one of the most popular recording artists of this era and when she drops a song it's a freakin' hit every single time.

So it shouldn't be a surprise that one of the most popular artists in the world has fans here too.

So during last night's smoke sess with the wife i decided to get more info on these Stan Armies. You know, for Science. Of course she was happy to oblige.

Ariana Grande - The Arinators

Selena Gomez - The Selenators

Olivia Rodrigo - The Livies.

Apparently these 3 stan armies are all at odds with each other, all sharing common enemies with the Swifties. Apparently the Livies are currently in a heated battle with the Swifties, who refer to the "Livies" as "Rodrighoes"

Ya'll think i'm playing, i'm not hahahahaha.

And since part of my wife's Cardi B Stan-hood is to listen to reaction videos after she drops a track, of course we did that last night too.

At which point, we stumbled upon a reaction video in which the YouTubers begged Nicki Minaj's stan army to not harass them and threaten them or be too upset with them for reviewing a Cardi B video.

Really gives some substance to how much these stan armies bully bloggers and reviewers and other artists through social media.

You're safe if I'm posting. I've just come to realize that I'm ChiefsPlanet's official matador's cape. A dozen people can post about something being shitty or crazy, but if I do it or agree with one of them, the trolls come at me like I just shot their dog. Always been that way.

I guess I just have a gift.

It doesn't matter the genre of music, doesn't matter the time, you can't spell fanatic without fan and human beings will generally do what other human beings do whether it makes sense or not. Taylor is just the next performer in a long line of globally popular artists, I don't listen to Taylor, Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Michael Jackson, Kiss, Elvis or the Beatles, none of them are on my playlists, but I see the similar trend. The South Park episode Fingerbang comes to mind and is very appropriate for explaining this type of phenomena. Hard rockers will say, "I'll never do anything like that." I remember seeing Metallica pack stadiums in their hayday with millions of fans crying and screaming for just a chance to get sweat on by James or Lars, and everytime Garth plays Arrowhead it's packed to the brim with country fans. We are who we are.
What an edge lord. Thanks for having the guts to be brave enough to go out of your way to not like things ironically allowing the popularity of something dictate if you engage with it or not the whole time.

All of us silly people were just out here liking things because we liked them whether they were popular or unpopular. What fools we were.

Also, not a fan of Swift per se, but her music is totally fine in my opinion for what it is.

You won't find it on my playlists but her music is quality. Every single she drops is a chart topper. She's authentic, makes quality music, has talent, is well produced. She's a very likeable person.

I fully understand why she's as beloved as she is by her fans.

What is a Stan? Is that an abbreviation for something, or are they calling each other Stanley?

What is a Stan slang for?

On social media, "stan" is a term used to refer to someone who is a very enthusiastic and dedicated fan of a particular celebrity, musician, or public figure.
Here you go.
