If the Bears can go in there with their abysmal defense and beat them in their own house, we should be able to kick their asses as well.
Put some pressure on Kaep and he's going to force some throws and we get a couple turnovers off him. With the way that Jamaal and Davis are playing, SF is going to have to gameplan for two completely different backs and two completely different run styles. Spread formations and 3TE sets should either occupy, or remove some of those outstanding linebackers that SF has on the other side. He will never come out and say it, but you know Alex Smith wants this one badly. I think this team rallies behind Alex Smith to get this win for him, as love him or hate him, Alex is a HUGE part of the turnaround this team has made. Hairball made the wrong choice at QB, and the Chiefs need to go in there and enforce that fact in the most painful way possible, by adding another L to the record of the SF 49ers. It wasn't so long ago that the Cassel led Chiefs shit all over the 49ers. Smith, Gore, Crabtree, Davis, those guys couldn't do jack against us and we beat their asses handily. We have a better team now, and we took the better quarterback from them. Chiefs roll, and are again the catalyst for massive coverage of an implosion of a team with huge expectations on them. The Harbaugh debacle will explode after the Chiefs and former QB Alex Smith trash them in their own back yard. The irrefutable proof that Harbaugh went with the wrong guy at QB will be the straw that breaks the camel's back this Sunday. The Niners' season spirals uncontrollably down the shitter.

A.J. Jenkins probably really wants to make a play this week after he was drafted and then buried on the depth chart. Part of the Harbaugh vs GM rift.
That bad drop by Hemmingway and Donnie Avery hurting would give him more snaps to make it happen. |

The Chiefs unleash on the 49ers and crush them.
Media goes on to talk about how bad the 49ers played instead of how the Chiefs played well. Mentions about players wanting Harbaugh out will grow louder and the 49er implosion kicks it up a notch the week following. |

This game is going to fall heavily on the coaching staff to out-coach the 49ers.
In terms of overall talent, it's kind of depressing. While we're better at QB, we lose almost everywhere else except for OLB, NT, and RB. Reid has to be on his A-game and our players have to execute at a high level for us to win this one. |

Smith is going to have to have his playoff and big game magic for us to pull this off on the road. Houston, Poe, and Hali are going to have to have big games as well.

If anybody knows how to defend either one of these QBs, it's both of these coaches.
I don't understand why more teams don't drop eight and only rush 3 against the Chiefs. It doesn't put any pressure on Smith, but Smith can't complete anything if nobody's wide open. |

Another thing is, how much will DAT factor into this game? Sure we haven't seen him on the field in the regular season yet, but they have to be planning to use him as a WC vs this 49ers team that struggles against small and fast guys (see John Brown and Darren Sproles).
We didn't see McKnight used at all until the Fins game, Reid could pull the same thing with DAT in this game. He sounds very much like he's healthy enough to play now judging from the practice reports. |

If we lose, you can expect a new flood of them coming over here saying, "Ha! Alex Sucks!" It's going to be very tough to beat them in their house though. Reid is going to have to be on his A game and our guys can't afford to mess up at all if we want to win this. |

Concerned about the run defense against a team that won't abandon the running game, so can't predict a W this week.
