Football Bears land 2007 No. 4 pick Adams from Bucs - Page 11

Gaines Adams-DL-Bears Oct. 16 - 8:45 pm et

Bears acquired DE Gaines Adams from the Buccaneers in exchange for what is believed to be a 2010 second-round draft pick.
While Bucs GM Mark Dominik mails in the season by dealing off his most gifted pass rusher and nearing insertion of an underclassman rookie QB, Bears GM Jerry Angelo is in the talent acquisition business. Trading first-day picks isn't advised, except when the return is a 26-year-old with dominating ability and a contract through 2012. Jim Bates, who's clearly lost his touch, couldn't get enough out of Adams in his first season as Bucs defensive coordinator. It's a good bet that Bears defensive line coach Rod Marinelli will.

It would be a good move if he hadn't decided we had to be a ****in 3-4 team for no reason.

Wow, didnt know Cal was that bad. I saw Mays playing deep safety with no one to cover, except not letting anyone get past him. On his INT, the QB made a poor read then threw late across the middle. Mays is the 2nd best Safety, a freakish athlete. People talk about the "IT" factor for QB's, Berry has that. Plays physical against the run, covers slot WR's, makes turnovers.

You hated Roy Williams and Leon Hall

You loved Rivers and Maualuga

You probably liked Odom

Jefferson, Crocker, D. Jones, and T. Johnson were probably too much of "meh" moves to even notice

Palmer and his 1 playoff season out of 5 full seasons as a starter. But thats all it takes to be a franchise QB.

Bengals had a damn good draft. Every round you were saying dang that was a good pick. That even went down to 7th round.

I think a lot of people are overrating Gaines Adams and Tamba Hali as a DE tandem.

I was going through the bengals draft choices in the last few years, and they have sucked.... Not counting 2008 and 2009 as we really can't evaluate them yet...

I didn't like Leon Hall outside of that their drafts are good.
