Albert to become free agent

No surprise really, but they could have tagged or tried something else

I'd have said cube steak - Flank isn't far off from the ribeye tier, anymore.

If not signing Albert allows you to use that money to bring in a better FS and upgrade other spots, it's still risky but it becomes worth the risk

I hate hearing this shit.

Compensatory picks are awarded based on who you lose AND who you pick up.

You cant let a guy walk and go 'oh yea ill get a compensation pick' without also factoring in your incoming crop of free agents.

He may very well get us a 3rd or 4th round comp pick, but those are lottery drawings, and Albert is money in the bank.

Not that it matters anymore I guess. Hes gone.

we aren't signing anyone noteworthy to replace Albert, it's coming in house. And we probably aren't splashing on any big deals close to what Alberts going to get in FA.

So that 3rd round comp pick is as good as ours

Bet on that against a top 10 LT and see how it goes, fellas. Sounds really ****ing smart to me.
It's important to acknowledge the value of reps.

We need defensive backs and extra pass rushers. O-line will get by. You can't dominate at every position.

Get 'em in the draft.

I think with a guy like Alex Smith, who holds the ball, you have to have an upper tier LT.

Not a chance.

You are going to see the best offensive line fielded in KC since 2003.

And I'm starting to really think that we might see Boss' suggestion of:

LT: Fisher
LG: Hudson
C: Kush
RG: Schwartz
RT: Stephenson

Unless they spend the 2014 first rounder on Cyrus Kouandjio or Gabe Jackson to play LG.

However, I'd rather see them put Hudson back at his OG college position and Kush, who looked really good against the Chargers, at center and spend that first rounder on an offensive difference maker like Odell Beckham.

Where's the evidence that Fisher is going to be anything but a dumpster fire at LT?

You can say that now, but it does not matter who replaces Albert at LT, its looked at as OVERALL scope of losses/signings by number and quality.

If Fisher sucks, you stick Stephenson at LT and Schwartz at RT. Then move Rokevius Watkins to RG.

Problem solved.

If you're upset about the Chiefs drafting a LT at #1, then you should have no problem passing up a $10M contract.
