I think you’re going to have to get used to Thornhill.
I get why people wish Thornhill was good.

Turn on that Buffalo game after badger left. We had no NFL safeties playing.

Buffalo once they realized we could not disguise our coverages were laughing at us.

Thornhill is better than Sorenson at coverage. That's not a very high bar.

Somebody should let the Bills know that their TWO pro bowl safeties aren't NFL caliber...

I think Thornhill is probably a pretty average NFL safety with upside given his history and age.

I think corner is clearly a premium position versus safety.

You're the guy who is recommending that we take a valuable corner asset and turn him into a safety to create a potentially elite defender while immediately reducing his overall value. Brilliant idea.

If you want to criticize Veach's plan, you can point to the fact that this is a good draft for safeties and perhaps that's where we should've focused. But the idea Thornhill is a big enough problem that you need to create a larger hole at corner is just silly.

Stop being silly.

I’m don’t think Thornhill is all that great but a few of those wide open TDs were on Mike Hughes not Thornhill.

Playmaker. If you try to explain it in the traditional box vs free safety he's a box safety with + range.

Can play free too but then is below average range wise.

Ideally you pair him with a rangier, free safety.

That's not Thornhill due to Juan's below average processing.

In a salary cap free world you would see Badger AND Reid..

Because that's not happening I would try Sneed at free. Sneed has the instincts that could make him special there. And if that can't work keep drafting looking for a cheaper solution.
I honestly think Sneed is a safety.

Sneed crashed in the draft because he converted to safety in his final collegiate season and struggled with the transition.

Sneed is a CB - full stop. And he's damn good at it. What makes him special is that he's one of the rarer types that can play inside or outside with equal aptitude because he has the physicality and quickness to operate in the slot without a boundary and still provide excellent run support OR move outside and run with bigger, physical WRs and not get pushed off his spot.

Sneed is just a really good football player and trying to move him to a spot where he's had less success, when he's had great success as a CB, is just unnecessary.

The Texans benched both Justin Reid and Zach Cunningham. Wouldn’t doubt Easterby and his bellichick stooge casserio decided he wasn’t a part of the right 53. Seems eerily similar to when pioli would tell his veterans we could find better players off the street. Will be fun to watch this guy play motivated again.

Juan Thornhill was playing at a high level prior to the injury. Anybody that says otherwise is lying.

Thornhill had a 70.2 grade on PFF for 2021.

I know it’s PFF, but it’s pretty hard to be inadequate and get a high grade playing that many snaps. Almost impossible.

He’s above average with a chance to be really good this year in a contract year.
