Okay, everyone. You've been drafted, you've been through basic training, and now you're in England. Your crew assignments are posted below. If you volunteered for duty, please check to be sure your name is on here. If not, let me know ASAP.

If you're not on here and didn't volunteer, but would like to join a crew, let me know and I can add you to the replacement crew list.

Pilots, please note: tradition dictates that you name your aircraft. Please submit a name in the next 24 hours. (I've got a bookmark to a website of real B-17 names, but of course it's down right now.)

Crew assignments were made according to post count, with the most posts equating to the highest position on the plane. Your crew was therefore determined by simply working down the list of posters (with some additions at the end for those who volunteered for service), so it's more or less random. No complaining about who you have to sit next to.

-It (the B-17) took such a beating it broke into three parts, and the pilot 1st Lt. Cyril Stidd and the two officers in the nose rode it down. It crashed in the Alps. The rest, they were taken prisoner and lived to come home. Donley and a very good buddy who lived in my tent by the name of Howard F. Brown from Wichita were flying waist, and Howard was trying to help the ball turret gunner out just as it broke apart and Donley jumped. Howard, the ball turret gunner and tail gunner were killed and their bodies were found still in the center section. The others jumped about the time Donley did and were all taken as POW's.

So, if we go down, get out alive, get taken prisoner, and escape, can we be reinstated and get back in the game?

Mechanic basically...fix hydraulic leaks...repair fuel lines..squelch fires and the like.At least i think that is the main job....keep the bird flying.
