CBB has routinely been way behind the NBA to adjust. Now so many coaches are using more of a correct strategy that it's getting more difficult for Self to get by.

WVU went small almost that entire game too and we will face much better teams in the weeks to come who will do the same with much better shooters.

We could easily be playing a 4 guard lineup on this team but even if he simply refuses to do that out of sheer stubbornness, he could also be playing the top 10 player in college basketball with the 2025 1st round pick on the front line and that would still be leaps and bounds better than what they are getting from KJ Adams.

Hell, why didn’t he call timeout on the catch at the end of the game? That may have been a Self mistake more than his though.

Didn't watch any of the game, but based on the boxscore - KJ had to have more fist pumps than points and rebounds combined, right?

I was at the game. Sat front row. I’m telling you now that the entire fieldhouse reacted negatively when Self was subbing Budinga out for Hunter instead of KJ the two times it happened towards the end of the game. Mayo was the best player on the court all day, but Budinga wasn’t far behind him as far as being a difference maker.

And Self and the entire coaching staff were unloading on the officials during the last 5 minutes or so, during every timeout. There were absolutely some badly missed calls that changed the trajectory of the game.

Missed the game while I was at work today. We already had to sit through an entire season of Leipold sabatoging the team early in the year... I'm not interested in watching Self do it too.
