First place again.

We get Philly next. This isn't the same team we played last time. If we take these guys we may have turned a corner.

I'm hoping the Cubs-Phillies game goes 18 innings tonight - I have tickets for tomorrow as well.

Then thankfully, Joe Torre decides to try to get Broxton a 5 out save on a day where the heat index is 106. He looked like he was going to ****ing have a heart attack early in the 9th. 40+ pitches over 1.3 innings.

Great win. Hope this provides a bit of a spark for the 2nd half.
They should induct Joe Torre into the HOF at the same time they induct Steinbrenner.

Afterall, without Steinbrenner's wallet, Torre isn't even a .500 manager.

He really is one of the most overrated figures in all of baseball.

I can understand that he really wanted that win, but to expect Broxton to get a 5 out save when it feels like 106 outside, is unrealistic.

He looked exhausted after the first two pitches in the 9th. He probably threw 20-25 more after that. Think he finished with 44 pitches. That's ridiculous.

Torre wasn't GS's first choice either. In fact I think he wanted LaRussa. Imagine that.

I liked Torre when he was playing for us. He was the scrappy player that I always liked.

You forget you're talking about Dodger fans. They probably tuned in around the 4th inning, turned it off after the 7th and went on to other things. 3/4ths of Southern California probably still thinks they won today.

It'd be nice to rip off a 7 game streak against two of the biggest scumbag fanbases in the NL.

...And Winn, FTW!!
