I've always thought the same, but this year, Mizzou could only hurt itself by playing and losing. Without the championship game, they're playing in the title game.

Still happy with the program's success, hope for even more next year.

First the BCS is a crock of shit. They need to have a playoff system then we wouldn't be arguing about stupid shit.

Second the BCS bowls should take the top 8 teams regardless of how many goes in a conference. It is absolutely mind boggling that a 11th ranked Illini team gets a BCS bowl but the 6th ranked team doesn't.

Third the Big 12 is stupid for having a conference championship game. They have screwed 3 teams now from getting to the NC game because they want to make some more money

Yeah, but we didn't deserve to be in it. Sure it would have been nice, and anything can happen, but we lost to OU twice, one of them was convincing. We aren't a national championship team yet.

Yeah, we don't suck. We're a good team in a good conference. But not an upper echelon team yet. The offensive line needs to get better, and the defense in general needs to improve. Neither unit is bad, but they aren't great. We were buoyed this year by amazing talent at skill positions and leadership by some very extraordinary talents. And the team is definitely on the way up. But we're not there yet. We've still got work to do and everyone associated with Missouri football would tell you that as well.

The only problem is that we did well enough to find out where we were. If Kansas were better than us and would have made the title game, OU would have hammered them as well. But since they didn't have to take that test, they didn't get graded on it.
