You're a Chiefs football reerun if...

....you want to move Branden Albert from left tackle.

....you want to draft a right tackle with the third overall pick.

....you want to draft Michael Crabtree with the third overall pick.

....you want to draft Aaron Curry with the third overall pick.

....you think Tyler Thigpen should be given a chance to "compete."

....you have anything positive to say about Carl Peterson, Herm Edwards or Gunther Cunningham.

Did I miss anything? Add to the list.

Again, you're missing the point. As usual.

This has NOTHING to do with my desire to take a QB.

I'm simply saying that IF Pioli takes Stafford or Sanchez at #3, and doesn't trade them for picks on draft day, then they will be the QBOTF.

Why did San Diego pick Manning, then trade him for Rivers when they already had Drew Brees?

This whole thing is predicated on what Pioli thinks of Stafford and Sanchez.

If he thinks either are capable of becoming elite, franchise QB's, he'd be foolish to pass when he has no idea if Cassel is another Tom Brady, or another Derek Anderson - especially when no other player holds value at #3.

If Cassel had several years in the league, and had proven himself, we're not having this conversation. But he hasn't, and if Pioli decides to cover his ass to make sure he has a QBOTF for BEYOND 2009, I'm not going to be crying over it like you will.

I think you need to re-read what he posted:

If they draft a QB at #3, it's to be the QBOTF, and Cassel is a stop-gap.

He's not saying what he wants, he's saying what the Chiefs might do based on the upcoming draft.

IF they draft a QB at #3...

IIRC, San Diego did the whole River/Brees move because AJ Smith is an egomaniac who wanted his own QB.

If Cassel puts up similar numbers this year as his 2008 stats, then it would be incredibly stupid for KC to trade him even if they took Sanchez thinking he is the QBOTF. You don't give up on a young top 10 QB who has begun to prove himself.

I don't care who Pioli decides/decided is the QBOTF. If it is Sanchez, then fine, I hope he becomes the first first round QB with under 20 starts to develop. Unlike most of the Sanchez gang, I'm not waiting in the wings hoping that players bust just so I can say "I told you so."

That's why trying to have a discussion with you is worthless.

You don't read, and you make assumptions.

I know you like to think so - to validate your argument - but there's not a guy here that WANTS Cassel to fail. Personally, I've said countless times that I hope I'm wrong on him, and will eat crow the day he leads this team to a championship.

He's incapable.

It's much easier for him to not read anything, and then make shit up to fit his argument.

It's because there are a lot of people here who would rather argue the poster, than argue the actual argument.

"If Cassel has a decent season, you can make a decision to sell him off to the highest bidder while his value is at its peak, or do the same with Stafford/Sanchez. Or keep both on the roster another year."

You're the person who originally said "or do the same with Stafford/Sanchez".

Because it IS an option, right?

I never said it is a GOOD option, is what I would do, or what Pioli SHOULD do.

I've been thinking about how it was said here that Cassel would be a stop-gap for our rookie QB if we drafted one at 3. I hadn't thought about it that way much, but I would really like the move if that's why we acquired him.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see us flip him for a pick or 2 this year, but if we grabbed him to play a year or 2 for us so we don't murder our QBOTF by playing him too soon--nice move.

If we got him to be the franchise I hope he succeeds, but I have my reservations.
