Posting Political/Religious Threads in the Main Forum

Eventually a mod shows up to move the damned thing, but this has been happening way too much lately.

We have a special playground for all your politards and bible thumpers/haters for a reason.

I propose that from this point forward people who do this should lose their thread starting privileges, at least temporarily.

Did I? Where did you hear that? What's a political image rehabilitation thread anyway? You've got to be kidding.

Pick a position and stick with it.

Needless to say, I don't find any of your various evolving standards compelling. I know I've never posted a political thread in the Lounge, "accidentally" or otherwise, whether there were prefixes or not. But I can remember you arguing that a thread you posted was news when people like Frazod were trying to say you were violating this rule. I remember that because I stuck up for you at the time and because that's when I first pointed out that the same thread posted by a poster like Rain Man or FAX would have been allowed. In addition to being a mess, you're a hypocrite just like when you were a hypocrite after you created the 2004 election mess and then joined the pro-banishment side in the aftermath. I come to the reluctant conclusion that this board would have been a lot better off if we'd have just banned you instead of splitting the forum.
You are either delusional or a liar. You invent this "'prefix tells me where to post' standard" claim, ascribe it to me and then when I tell you I reject it and explain how it's nonsensical, you claim I'm all over the map.

The worst of DC-patteeu right here in the Lounge. Sweet.

You guys are STILL talking about this?

There are always gray areas. Pat's Cheney thread was one of them. The typical response for those is to let them ride for a while, then move them over when they start getting out of hand. That's basically the same way that "media center" or "pictures" threads are handled. They live in the Lounge for a while, but eventually get moved over when appropriate. That practice predates me by a long time.

I guess I don't really understand what the debate is about.

It's because frazod has mod envy. He really wants the superpower to be able to ban everyone on CP so he can be the only one to start a thread and then post in it. He talks to himself all day long anyway so he would love to be able to do it here.

One of the worst things about you is your hair trigger for calling people liars. It's a serious character flaw, IMO.

I don't have any problems with frazod, but I must admit that the above seems to be as least somewhat accurate.

What was initially going on here, IMO, was an effort to push as much of that gray area into the no-go zone as possible.

More recently, I think it's become an effort to poison the well for "patteeu posts" in particular even though I almost never post threads that are even close to the gray area in the Lounge. But I think I acquitted myself pretty decently in that Cheney thread so I have confidence that nothing will change.

Why would I want the aggravation? Besides, I really don't have much trouble getting things done around here. Especially when patteeu is being so helpful.

Fraz, I hate to admit this, but that free gallon of pig jiz was just too good of a deal to pass up. He even threw in a handy carrying case. Well, he called it a carrying case anyway. I thought it looked like a regular old plastic bag but still, it was free!

I'll probably never even wear the shirt except maybe when I'm doing yard work or washing the car. I hope you don't mind.
