Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Now I don't know about you guys, but fans of Skyrim/WoW/etc. would like this game that hits stores 2/7/2012.

-The Developer is Big Huge Games. Responsible for titles such as Rise of Nations and Age of Empires III. Not very popular games but I think this one is worth looking at.

-Published by Electronic Arts, so graphics will be top notch. It is single player RPG.

-Available on XBOX360, PS3, and PC.

No, I've been selling the repair kits and having them repaired by a Blacksmith. With mercantile at +3, I actually net more gold that way I'm pretty sure.

Oh....and the downloadable content weapons/armor are pretty much worthless after the first hour.....if even that long.

That's the thing. The side-stories are pretty interesting. The main story? Doesn't interest me at all. Shit.....I think I've only done 2-3 things on the main quest.

Which brings me to my next question.

Has anyone done any of the Thieves Guild quests?

How the **** were you supposed to steal the stuff in the first quest? I ended up pick pocketing the guy and then running off.

I am trying not to steal anything (this game does give tremendous leeway when it comes to actually playing a ROLE) so I turned down the offer from the Traveler dude.

I have started the Warsworn quests but the waypoint is clear in the next section to the east and I'm not ready to go there yet.

Just an FYI if you actually DO steal things. You CAN'T sell them to any merchant.....at least not until your mercantile skill is completely maxed out. You can only sell them to a merchant that buys and sells stolen goods.....which is conveniently located in the Thieves guild.

Yep. Right now my character is philosophically opposed to theft.

Kinda bummed over the Uprising quest, I wanted to take out the other chick but not sure i had a chance to. Not sure if i did it right but the one i killed had a much nicer rack and personality.

Most of you have probably already encountered the "Detect Hidden" trainer in the 1st town of Gorhart. For about 15K gold, he'll give you a point in "Detect Hidden". In addition to him, there's a "Persuasion" trainer in the House of Ballads, a "Blacksmithing" trainer in Shieldring Keep, and both "Stealth" and "Mercantile" trainers in Star Camp.

Now these trainers, on their surface, are very limited.

1. They can only train you if you have 3 points or less in "their" skill. If you have "Detect Hidden" of 4, the trainer can't help you.
2. They only train "their" skill - it's hard to justify spending 15K on Blacksmithing if you're a mage, for example.

There is a way for you to get 5 "free" skill points out that you can assign anywhere - to alchemy for instance.

First, visit a Faterweaver - either the one south of Didenhil or the one in the House of Ballads. Pay them to "reset" your character. You'll now only have points distributed in the skills you started with. Since none of them are above 2, you can now train with all 5 trainers freely.

Go ahead and visit all of the trainers and then GO BACK to the Fateweaver. Reset your skills again. Now the 5 points you got from training go back INTO YOUR POOL, allowing you to assign them wherever you want.
