ohhhh. I rewatched it, and you're correct. The player off the line of scrimmage didn't rush the kicker either.

Forward progress is overpowered.

Apparently your forward progress can prevent a fumble while giving all the yards you gained after it was "stopped" and it can also prevent you from having to complete a catch.

Be careful how you throw that "99%" around.

There was a 99% certainty that something should have happened yesterday, too.

IMO, it shouldn't have been a catch. The whole "forward progress isn't reviewable" thing is stupid. Even so, the refs need to either look at it more quickly or decide not to review it. You can't let them spike the ball and then say "Oh, we mean to review it before you spiked it but just didn't say so."

Just take away "forward progress".

If the whistle blows, the play is over. Don't give the offense a chance to get a 2nd push.

Whether it was a catch or not does not really matter. The Bengals ran another play. As soon as that ball was hiked, the rule on the field stands no matter what.

This. Not one of these dumb ****ers said anything about the fact that they ran another play! How do they all miss that?
