We drafted a guy in the third that's very similar to Flowers in almost everything.

Fighter, smaller, good ball skills, physical with good instincts.

If you miss Flowers, you'll be a big fan of Nelson.

Flowers had become a liability against big, fast receivers.

He wasn't big enough to muscle them or fast enough to run with them.

It was time, we just shouldn't have reworked Flower's contract right before we cut him.

Try again, genious.

By the way, you don't have to do it "a lot," but being dead ****ing last isn't a good thing. And that's what we have.

Stop supporting this broken QB.

Well, prior to 2013, KC was a clear bottom-feeder team that most were snickering at. Since this QB's arrival, the Chiefs have now become a consecutive, winning team. They are again relevant.. and even in losses, tend to put up a good fight. That is a pride that means something to most fans and players.. even if some here at CP can only pout about not being the very best.
Stop acting like you know dick about this team before Smith arrived.

One needs not be an expert in all things KC prior to 2013.

They were a bottom-feeder team, just as their 2-14 record clearly shows.

So I won't stop. Now kindly toddle off and GFY, asshole.

Any of these guys, or any other WR for that matter that Smith has played with, excel when Smith left? You could point to crabtree but basically Kap just took the yards that were going to Davis and gave them to crab. Then crabtree fell off and had to settle for the raiders. Moss WAS freaking old and then retired AGAIN. Manningham was hurt and old and also retired. Bowe may do something again next year, now that he lost his big contract, we'll see. I don't know about Avery, I can't even recall where he was picked up.

They were so bad of a team Matt Cassel would have had back to back trips to the playoffs had it not been for two blocked Succop field goals.

But you knew that, right?

Fine. A team quarterbacked over 32 games by Matt Cassel, Kyle Orton, Tyler Palko and Brodie Croyle would have made TWO playoff appearances had it not been for Richard Seymour going HAM against the Chiefs' field goal unit.

And it would have done so in 2011 without a star RB, a what was then serviceable TE, and a then game-changing safety.

Welp, I see the Sean "overrated" Smith crew has shown up to exercise their cock-holsters.

Tell me more about Smith's awesome interceptions and pick 6's as a Chief, boys.

And let's say he does force the throws and it gets picked, all of you would be quick to feather and tar Alex real quick, so in defense of Alex it's a catch 22

Take it from me, I've followed Alex since he was drafted from the 49ers and watched pretty much all of his games and this idea most on here seem to think of as truth is false: that Alex doesn't throw the deep ball. I've seen him throw a 50 yarder down the field to a receiver equivalent to Wilson during a torrential rainstorm Thursday night against the Seahawks in Seattle. Or when the game is on the line against the saints in that divisional playoff game to Vernon Davis. Most recently to Donnie Avery. My point is, yeah he doesn't take enough chances as we like, but the guy can throw and win you games when the game is on the line. How many qbs have the Chiefs had in recent memory can you trust and win you games? Alex is smart he won't take the gamble if the risk is not worth the reward. And can you honestly blame hi 100% last year for the offensive woes this team faced? But the future is bright with this team and honestly it reminds me of the 49ers team going into the 2011 season. And guess how far they made it that year, a fumble away from playing in the super bowl.
Why would we feather before tarring? Makes no sense.
