And look at 3 Pittsburg defenders covering Hill out of the backfield while Maclin runs down the sideline uncovered and one of the tight ends is uncovered. They must have studied the film.

Not to defend AS but I only see 8-9 defenders on the screen.

Some of the other gifs\images are really damning though. Time to start Foles IMO.

You don't even need to know where the rest of the defenders are. Alex looked to Kelce on the arrow first, and the defender went with him.. he didn't even make his next read on that concept, which is the snag on the same side.

I don't disagree just pointing out that there was probably someone covering Maclin we just can't tell from that image.

Maclin was covered. Faux Tony Gonzalez was the open man.

Even if Maclin was open....Smith doesn't have the arm to get it there.

Phony Gonzalez was definitely open. There probably was a deep safety on Maclin. I'm still not sure he wasn't open, but it doesn't matter. The chances of Alex making it to his third read is zero.

I'd take my chances with Maclin 1on1 with a safety all day long

Thanks for proving me spot on with the gifs and still-frames Clay haha... Jesus... I didn't even realize HOW BAD it was until seeing these all over again (I had to start drinking). This goes beyond bad, into the realm of despicable, pathetic, garbage.

I have few problems with Andy Reid's play-calling until he gets cute in the Red Zone. My main problem with Andy Reid is that he hasn't benched Alex Smith.

literal nobodies like hoyer can come in and throw for 300 yards and multiple tds on garbage teams

Alex Smith makes playing QB look harder than any mediocre QB i can remember

he's afraid of the pocket, he stares at the rush, he can't read the field under pressure, and he's afraid to throw into nfl windows consistently which leaves our play makers helpless

he's so ****ing depressing to watch...just a helpless feeling

but frankly a franchise that refuses to draft QBs in the first round deserves him, and deserves Cassell...forever

where's that idiot 4 year old staylor to tell how awesome smith is?
