Make ChiefsPlanet great again!

Figured I'd get this discussion going sooner than later. Here's your thread to suggest ways to make this place great. This can be anything from new capabilities (though no promises on making anything work), new ways of organizing things, whatever.

As examples, I think we need to figure out a way to meet the desires of people who want calm, in-depth discussion of the Chiefs and people who love a no-holds-barred, in-your-face style.

I also keep thinking about ways to have more unique content, kind of like gblowfish's 10 Things threads. Maybe we could have people write regular features or something like that?

I certainly don't have the answers, but we might as well use the offseason to talk about some cool ideas.

Mega threads for Chiefs discussion kind of suck. Besides being difficult to keep up with, they get bogged down with slap fights. They also allow stale topics to hang around on the front page.

Part of the issue is the small number of people that actually contribute Chiefs news. Then someone posts an article and it's greeted by 10 "Q"s or the article gets trashed because of the author, etc. Part of the reason every thread is about the QB is that no other stuff gets posted.

DC needs more aggressive moderation. It can be from a team of two respected liberals and two respected conservatives.

But abusive language and behavior needs to be bled out of that forum. Unfounded articles from blatantly partisan sources need to be labeled as much, like they do on Reddit. It's the number one complaint everybody has of that page.

Lol at that working. Or any poor soul that wants to moderate that shit. Here's a novel idea, how about no more political talk? You'd be surprised how civil everybody would become. And moderating that new rule would be easy. I know this because I did it on another board. You're all Chiefs fans first, right? So ditch the politics if that's the big problem. This site was made for Chiefs talk, not who's running for president. Just my two cents

The people drawn to frequent political discussion have no interest in anything than talking points from their side, regardless of truth. It's juvenile "drumpf" and "shrillary" talk. There's a reason most people don't want to talk politics. Hell, it's the reason "fake news" is so rampant. No one wants to think critically, they want to see their side win the "discussion".
