Just saw live on The Herd on FS1. He got a text from the source live on air and said that the source has told him that Cousins will be signing with Denver and that they were already working on a deal (tampering?)

They are deperate. So were we before Mahomes. You need a quality, top shelf QB to win a SB. Or at least playing like one at the time. There is the occasional outlier but history proves you cant win a SB without one.

I think a lot of average QBS get overpaid. It a position that gets overpaid. If you are lucky enough to draft a young QB that works out then you are ahead of the curve. The Broncos tried that and failed (THANKFULLY!).

It looks like their options are -

1 - Stay the course with the trash they have at QB right now.
2 - Try to draft another young QB. Their track record isn't that good right now with drafting young talent.
3 - Sign a Free Agent (which QBs appear to get overpaid.)

The Chiefs have been in this position quite a few times before! It's nice to see the Broncos in this position for once.

However, I do think Cousins is the best of the bunch of the options available. I have no clue what he will get paid, but it seems most if not all QBS get overpaid.

There's also a lot of heat on Elway.

He hasn't produced a single respectable option at QB through the draft so far and that was what people expected to be his strength...

Yes there is, and much more than you also mentioned.

Their fans are used to winning and contending. They've been spoiled over the years. Yes, it was somewhat expected after Manning retired. But it isn't expected to continue.

A few seasons like the Chiefs have had, the fans will be calling for heads. Almost Nebraska like.

It's like when George Brett worked for the poor KC Royals teams. Nobody would dare point the finger at George for anything! Before John Elway the Broncos fans didn't have a whole lot to brag about.

Eventually, they are going to have to face the facts if he can't figure the draft out.
