Should I be happy Kietzman was fired? Yes, it's me.

I have mixed emotions about KK getting canned. It should've happened years ago. But I'm not convinced this incident deserved a firing.

Scale of 1 to 10, how pleased should I be?

For 20 years, KK got away with all sorts of underhanded bulls*t. Took two decades for karma to catch him.

Go Chiefs!

Excusing asshole behavior only begets more asshole behavior. Just because it works in your favor this time doesn’t mean it will the next go around.

Consistency is important to me. For example: this level of moral outrage towards KK over his comments about Reid as a father now compared to the identical comments he made at the time of Reid’s hiring. Some took issue with it, as a search of CP will show. But there was no major outrage to the extent that he was suspended, let alone fired.

I realize perspectives can change over time, but considering KK’s own moral transgress, I have a hard time understanding how this particular topic is just now becoming an issue. Which leads me back to my issue of consistency; wether it be us as a fan base or Whitlock jumping between hero and self serving prick, being consistent is important because it adds credibility to one’s position. How was that KK thought he could get away with his comments? Because he did once before.

This entire drama, from Hill to comments about Reid’s role as a father has been nothing more than an aids spiked antifreeze cocktail with a nasty moldy cheese stuffed olive as a garnish. Fans on both sides of the issue know our SB dreams are finally with in reach are losing their minds in the process. And after all of these decades of suffering I can certainly understand it - to a degree. There still comes a point where need to hold everyone, ourselves included, accountable.

The Chiefs were dogshit when Reid was hired.

They needed the media back then.

Now, the media needs the Chiefs. More than ever.

This is especially true of the local media. Their job at this point is to rah rah our team to victory, and to provide us entertaining articles about our players as well as in-depth analysis and play breakdowns.

If I were in charge of press relations, I would revoke all standing local press passes and a new set of criteria would be issued to these clowns. Starting with this; those who would retain the privilege of covering this magnificent specimen of a football organization will provide for me no less than a thousand word essay explaining why Tyreek Hill should be the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year for 2019, and what his ability to overcome such deep and disturbing struggles has meant to you personally. How has it inspired you?

Double spaced and on my desk before camp please.

I think this is a great idea. I would also request an essay on why KK was wrong and how the media should deal only in facts, not fiction.

I've never been a fan of KK. He's one of those guys that spout off about anything that comes to their feeble mind and won't ever admit they are wrong. But this time he crossed the line and I don't believe for 1 second he didn't know exactly what he was doing. Considering the ties the station had with the Chiefs, I can't see any way that he could continue to bash them and yet receive cash from that relationship. If it took this to get rid of him, so be it.
On a side note, I wonder if his wife will leave the station as well. I would imagine that it would be pretty awkward to have her in the front office.

You never know. Maybe it’s not that awkward of a separation.

I almost posted this same sentiment last night...Chiefs were 2-14 with the #1 pick. Nobody, other than die-hard fans, gave a shit about them.

They are SB favorites now with a MVP QB.

The local media picked a hell of time to try the TMZ route of cheap reporting...maybe they viewed it as an opportunity to get their names out there.

Chiefs had a partnership with 810...so they had the means to get him fired. If they had the same situation with the Star, they would have done the same.

They have done what they could by curtailing their media access....

It's a strange world where Teicher looks like only one smart enough to recognize the climate. KC media decided to shit on a team with the hottest player on the planet. Fat Brooke isn't from KC...she's a recent transplant trying to further her career. She also is too ****ing stupid to realize what a goldmine covering the Mahomes-led Chiefs is...

Small-time reeruns...all of them.

Don't kick women with security cameras around and don't have child abuse allegations when you are a convicted domestic abuser and you probably won't have bad media coverage.

People are interested in the Chiefs now...and every little thing gets magnified.

There is more at stake...

Anybody really think Florio gives a shit about Hill if KC is a 4-12 team? Nope...negative reporting on them is now profitable.

As usual, the small-time local media were too slow to read the tea leaves...Chiefs with Mahomes are too big for them now.

They are posting his home address on the news...like a bunch of high-school amateurs. They ran with the Hill story because they hadn't recognized they have a superstar QB....and dont realize what attention that brings.

Mahomes wants to be a local figure..and active in the community. I thinks its a terrible idea...Kansas City is too small for a legit NFL superstar QB . The media doesn't know how to handle it...Look at what that small-change DA did...in making media spectacle with Hill. Chump-hour...

Yep. Deal is, the small time fools chose the negative route, when they literally have the biggest story in the NFL in their own backyard in Mahomes. They have / had access to inside stuff on a daily basis that would have been picked up nationally, putting them on the map that way.

Now, Im not saying only cover the good stuff, but when you cover the bad, do your research and do it profesionally. Just think where they would be today had they done that.

You're right, no one cared about the Belcher situation because the team was horrible.

But man, THAT deal may have very well been the worst incident ever involving a player in our lifetime. Holy shit that was horrible.

They only cared because it was such a bizarre situation...not because it specifically involved the Chiefs franchise.
