They mentioned early on that this crew was a bunch of emergency replacements. What happened to the regular officiating crew? Was it a covid deal or something different?

I do wonder if the Chiefs game plan around the refereeing, which would be smart. If the regular officiating crew tends to call pass interference and defensive holding sparingly, then Spagnuolo's game plan would have been great. But then we got screwed at the last minute by getting an emergency crew that calls every touch downfield a penalty.

They did keep them on the sideline. Tough to score sitting on your ass watching drives get extended OVER AND OVER.

Re-read what you just ****ing posted. The first sentence.

If the officials make it "difficult" for one team to beat another, then that is the definition of 'rigged.'

You DO realize that, right?

Funny. Blackop was saying a few weeks ago that the league was going to get Vrabel for not going with the game plan. But now they wanted to give them the #1 seed? I guess he must have gone to the commish and cut off his penis in front of him to prove how he'd follow along the test of the way.

Besides... You guys (The Chiefs) are still a MASSIVELY TALENTED TEAM who would probably beat the Bengals +50% of the time.
If they played 10 times on a neutral field... I'd say the Chiefs win 6 or 7 times.
You're full of shit. Every single call went your way.

Every. Single. Call. When that happens, it's by design. Don't come in here with your weak shit.

In a fairly called game, your team would have been blown out of your home stadium. End of conversation.

Enjoy your cheap garbage Division Title.

The Bengals are just a goddamn freak show team at WR. This was always going to be a tough matchup.

The Bengals can do what the Steelers and Chargers WANT to do, which is win with their big WR's on the outside.

Combine real matchup problems with garbage officiating and this is what we get.
Well, staying true to who the defense is just cost them a week off.

Even if you stick to it throughout the game, you have to be a goddamn idiot to call an all out blitz on 3rd and 27.

Even if they pick up 20 - what's the worst that happens? They kick a FG and we get the ball back with 3-ish minutes to go win it.

Absolutely inexcusable coaching decision.

We played defense today largely no differently than we have for the past 8 weeks. A primary difference is that this crew was calling the ticky tack crap. Makes it difficult on a defense for sure.

Fulltime could get everyone on the same page and get calls made more consistently across the league.

It won't fix everything, there will still be human error. But we could at least get these guys on the same page as to what DPI is.

These refs need to be reviewing film every week, going over bad calls, good calls and refining their craft.

Not going home to their wife Sunday night and then working on the City Council on Monday.

Pretty sure it was due to Covid, so yes covid and replacement refs wound up doing what covid couldn't last week.
