Believe what your eyes tell you, not what your heart feels.

Nearly all of us and at a minimum a vast majority has seen this team in the Cassel, Smith and Mahomes era.

Another big chunk have watched the Montana, Green, Gannon, Grbac periods.

And the old farts like me have had to endure Mike Livingston, Mark Vlasic, Steve Pelluer, Bill Kenney and Steve DeBerg.

We ALL know the difference between a really bad team, an average team, an over achiever, an under achiever, a good and great team.

At this point, if you don't realize that this 2023 Chiefs team is average at best and trending down, you need to remove your homer goggles.

I love our team and have spent 53 years rooting for them when it was hard as hell to do and I didn't have other fans to console me after all the loses. I grew up in NJ. There were no Chiefs fans that I knew.

Mahomes and the Super Bowl delivered incredible joy and pride.

Now after 2 Super Bowls and non-stop winning we have hit an off year. It's easy to do in the NFL and we lasted longer than most teams do winning all the time.

Many of you see it but have remained overly optimistic. God Bless your devotion. I did that already for 50 years and now I can be much more realistic after the SB wins.

Do yourself a favor and be honest with yourself. You see it, you feel it and you know it.

This team has no chance in the playoffs. Don't try to tell me anything can happen, because it really doesn't. Yeah, a neat play here or there or maybe a win against a shit team but even now that is unlikely.

This team is burnt out. Since Game 1 not a ****ing thing has improved and in some cases has gotten worse: Mahomes and Kelce in particular.

When your top two stars are ****ing up and look like they need a month off to rest, you know you are in trouble.

I pray everyone stays healthy, we shut this shit show of a season down, rest our franchise QB before he gets injured or killed. The dude was running for his LIFE all day and our Oline has also gone backwards.

We have a great young defense, can focus on Oline and WRs for draft and signing FAs to rebound in 2024.

From play calling, to turnovers to penalties to oline blocking to drops, this has been a brutally ugly season.

Time to turn the page on 2023 and get our shit fixed ASAP cause it ain't gonna change in 2023.

I have hated all the curses we got this year...Denver win streak ends, Raiders win streak ends, Mahomes never loses two in a row, Mahomes never loses in December, Andy's stellar record after bye weeks...Mahomes has no problem being down double digits...all the shit we used to be able to depend on sorta blew up in our faces this season.

The why is a little more complicated, but basically as has been noted, our WR corps is not good at all. There is a small bright spot in our 2nd round rookie, and I think we can look forward to good things from him. Our O-Line has been largely ass and getting worse as the season goes on. Patrick is pushing a lot and is OBVIOUSLY frustrated, which is new to see.

It feels like the team has had an implosion. So much success over such a short period of time, they've played more games in the last 5 years than any team in the NFL. Sooner or later, this was going to happen.

I HOPE we can win out. I think we can at least win 1 more, and I hope it's next week. The home crowd has paid a lot of goddam money to watch this team lose half our ****ing games at home this year. They deserve to go out winners next week and see their beloved Chiefs lock up the division for the 8th year in a row.

Then whatever happens in the playoffs happens. I'm actually almost ready for the season to end, but I'll always don my Jersey and root like hell for my Chiefs. I'm OK with things, it is what it is. They will have some serious work to do in the offseason.

It’s because last year was a perfect confluence of Mahomes going God mode, a still healthy Kelce, and the WR room that played wayyyyy over their skis.

It wasn’t the mean…this is.

If you think it's "time to turn the page on 2023", then stop watching. What else is there to say?

I'm thinking fans should still show up to the stadium, the team should still show up every week, that sort of thing.

Unless "turn the page on 2023" means something else.

Is there something specific I should be doing?

We can have a stop on 3rd and 17 after a Chris Jones sack only to see a DPI give the other team a first down.

It could be 1st and goal and Andy will not call one play pass into the end zone or do some stupid razzle dazzle that fails miserably.

Our punt returner could have a 55 yard return and then fumble when tackled losing possession.

This has been the body of evidence across the entire season.

Don't expect a Ford to suddenly turn into a Ferrari.
Oh I get what you are saying. Trust me. This shit has been hard to watch. But I still believe we have the best QB I have ever seen in my lifetime. We have a chance.

One thing about today was just how awful the Raiders were today, right alongside the Chiefs.... the game really could have been (uh, should have been?) 7-6 in the 4th quarter.

And then watching MNF, the one game I really wanted to watch this weekend.... and Purdy now has 4 picks and it's not much of a game.

The Chiefs are rough..... but, damn the rest of the league is right now, too.

I'm ready for the season to get to the CGs and SB, and even those might be just as terrible as the rest of these big games have been.

My eyes and heart tell me the same thing.

This team is tired and they’re not hungry right now. There is obviously some lack of trust and plenty of blame to go around. Mahomes doesn’t look confident or good. He makes bad throws routinely and obviously has no trust in the dogs hit receivers.

That said, the line isn’t blocking well, Kelce has been distracted and must be hurt or something….hes dropping balls and playing like his head is up his ass.

The tantrums from 15 and 87 aren’t helping at all

In short, this team looks like it would like a longer offseason this year and I’d say they are likely to get it.

The good news, we have basically beaten ourselves every game outside of maybe Denver when Mahomes had the flu.

The bad news, there doesn't seem to be any sign that we won't continue beating ourselves.

Yup. This happened to the Patriots too in 2005. Had just won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years and then finished 10-6 and got bounced in Denver in the divisional round.

id bet real money that there is some kind of conflict in the locker room. And or beefs with coaches.

Another issue is 34 year old TE’s usually suck. Time catches up to us all. No other threat so they gang up on Kelce.
