I was appalled by the decision to overturn the Gore slide ...

but imagine if they overturned the Utley play against the Royals

I don't know what I would have done ... something I probably would have regretted

The Wade Davis strikeouts looking to Rasmus and Tucker are just so nasty. We are in the presence of greatness.

Yeah, enjoy it while it lasts. There will be other closers down the line, they probably won't be pitching like this. The last two years our closer had a 1.21 and 1.44 ERA, which is ridiculous... and we replaced him with a guy who has a 0.94 ERA this year.

Our starting pitching ironically wasn't too bad ...
You have to score more than 2 ****ing runs a game. This is the 3rd game out of 4 that we've only scored 2 runs.

Everyone is swinging for the fences and probably rightly so since we can't seem to score any other way.

Ned went into "I don't give a shit" mode in early September and imo, it cost us. We sat back, feeling all big and fat like we were entitled to something. Now we are going home after round 1 of the playoffs.

Mellinger is really coming into his own. http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt...e38891583.html

We may have been spoiled with Posnanski and Whitlock (before he went full reerun) for so many years. But I still remember the Gib Twyman/Jonathan Rand times. Here let me reiterate the obvious in a really bland way. Dark dark days those were.

Wade Davis is in the Mariano Rivera category. On another level.

Even with two innings left and a 1 run lead, who here didn't think we were going to win?
