I didn't see this game, but I doubt it was any different than any of the others. Diallo simply isn't that good right now. He can't even remain on the floor for more than a few minutes without committing a bad foul or making some other basic mistake that the team can't afford. He's shown signs of being a good rebounder and rim protector, but to this point those qualities are outweighed by the negatives.

Really, he's just not the sure fire one-and-done guy he was hyped up to be. It will be interesting to see whether he decides to stay next year and develop (like the Morris brothers did who were similarly raw as freshman) or decides to go pro immediately anyway.

Bragg has played a higher percentage of minutes than either Lucas or Mickelson this season. If there's anything that's clear about the second big spot, it's that nothing has been decided yet. I'd expect all of them to keep getting thrown out there (while largely sticking with the one or two that play the best in any given game) until one of them shows some level of consistency.

I would like to note that Greene looked significantly better last night. He looks a lot less lost on offense. He does some really nice things besides just bomb threes (which I'm cool with). He also looks better on D. Those guys weren't terribly quick, so it is kind of a mirage, but the lateral movement is a lot better.

More importantly, it looks like he gets it upstairs. That is huge. The minutes he put in were very good, despite not hitting a bunch of threes. Prior, if he wasn't hitting threes he was horrible. That's not the case now. That is a big goddamned deal. Greene can really wreck shit. If he's not a liability otherwise, that's huge.

This is good to hear. His mere presence on the floor opens up a ton of space for others to score because his man cannot leave him. We'll see if he can keep it up when the competition level rises on Saturday.

This is the latest in the season a KU team has been #1 in that metric since the 2009-2010 team was #1 in March 2010. That has more to do with there not being any great team in college basketball this season (our current Pyth. rating of .9456 would fall somewhere between 3-5 in the rankings in most years), but it is something.

The PyThag baseline changes every year so it cannot reasonably be compared across time.

The reason it's not as high as past top teams is not because the field is weak this year (which it is), it's because our SoS stinks.

Well that's part of it, but it's mostly because this team isn't nearly as good as other top teams from past years relative to their respective schedules. It's a weak year.

What makes you think Bragg or Diallo will be here next year? The NBA drafts for potential, not current ability. They could be lottery picks.

Just a guess. Diallo would probably be smart to stay in school. Minutes free up next year with the departure of Ellis and Traylor. But, I would guess that Diallo will take his chances and declare. Think it's a long shot that Bragg would go pro though.

Diallo I'd give 50/50 right now. If he has a good stretch of 5-6 games in a row he's gone.

Wasn't Diallo quoted as saying he was going to give KU at least two years? Not saying that will happen, just that he was quoted as saying such at some point.

Way to much risk to stay in school. It's not smart for any lottery pick to stay in school. They can develop in the NBA and get paid.
