Yeah, day 3 OL are about all the same for me.

Take one early, or don't at all next year.

I'd love to see Mahomes playing with two first round tackles and a HOF center, along with WRs anchored by Rice and Worthy with all of them gelling for the long term. That sounds like the makings of a truly dynamic Andy Reid type offense.

I'm just so puzzled by how they've handled OG this off-season.

They got so little for Thuney who then extended for...not much. And the odds of Smith being better than Thuney over the next 3 years just aren't very good, IMO.

And Thuney, being on the left side, could've helped break in a new LT a fair bit.

I just don't understand why they're plowing so much capital into the IOL and in the process appear to have kept a guy who, in the short term, just isn't going to be as good as the guy they traded away for a pittance.

Smith would've yielded a better return while Thuney would've provided better play at a lesser cost. The ONLY upshot is the youth and man, I just don't care that much when we're talking about the IOL. Trey Smith ISN'T going to be Will Shields. This isn't the sort of HoF caliber throughput we need to hold onto for 15 years.

It's just really strange to me how all this has been done.

I'll reserve judgement until we see the deal Trey Smith ultimately ends up signing (or not). You have to think there was, at the time, hope for a deal both sides could get behind.

No team out there was ever going to give up much for a 32 year old LG.

Because they’re not the same thing. PubMed is an aggregator run by the NIH that links to articles from the leading medical research journals in the world. Getting published in a medical journal is hard. Getting your medical journal piece then linked to PubMed is harder. It’s the highest standard a piece in a medical journal can face.

Like the one from the Orthopedic Journal of Sports Medicine that looked at this injury from 2009-2023.

You thinking that’s the same thing as WebMd… well, actually that would track with your demonstrated inability to read and comprehend anything more than two sentences.
Tell us some more how Simmons has no chance to ever play WebMd. I mean you know all. You got 50,000+ posts here. You parrot your butt buddy crow. And you learned real hard reading on the internet to get your doctorate to tell everyone one you can predict someone recovery.

Again your opinion means as much as the shit I took this morning. So does mine. But I don’t act all knowing and blast others when they don’t agree.

I actually completely agree, I would have kept Thuney over Smith as well all things considered. The thing is, we just aren't privileged enough to know the inner workings of the locker room and on field dynamics. For all we know, Patrick has a huge say in these matters and deemed Smith a must keep. Thuney is rock solid and more consistent, but Smith has been more of an enforcer for this group. He is someone I think opposing lineman do not want to go up against come game day. I think that's a huge part of why they valued him over Joe.

Also, we know how much age plays into these things as well for this team. Even though interior OL is not a spot where players generally fall off a cliff, it's always a possibility. I hope it all works out, because I'm just as worried as you. Just have to trust these guys understand the situation better than us.

I thought the Chiefs could have got one of Chicago's 2nd rounders (Pick 41) for Smith.

You are still in the same spot cap wise with extending Thuney, but you might have been able to address another huge need on either the OL or DL

I can’t tell you that “again” because I never said he had no chance to play. Maybe that happened in one of the 30,000+ posts you said I have made that I have not, in fact, made.

Predictable you would go to that and predictable you’d turn to gay slurs, because you have nothing else.

The numbers on this injury are what they are/were. And they suck. You don’t need a doctorate to look at numbers and historical trends or develop an opinion off of them.

Is Simmons one of the outliers? Sure hope so. There’s more reason to be optimistic about it than before the draft, so that’s cool.

I’d say I’m sorry you got your feelings hurt, cupcake. But I’m not. You came in like an asshole, so that’s the treatment you get in turn.

Or maybe, they have a pretty good feeling that Thuney is about to decline. People thought Andy was crazy when he traded Donovan McNabb, and again when he traded Alex Smith.

Who thought he was crazy for trading Alex Smith when we had a first round pick that they traded up for on the roster?
