Thuney has played a ton of football.

He will be 33 in November and has already started 167 games.

I trust our trainers to evaluate these situations accurately and to provide that data to Veach and the rest of his team to make good decisions with every dime of the cap. ESPECIALLY when we have a handful of mega contracts on the roster now and a couple more that will hopefully get done before camp with Trent+Karlaftis.

I imagine they had no plan to extend him, so they dealt him to a team that would AND got a pick in the process.

So I don't known if anyone cares but former KU player Perry Ellis was back in town in July 2019 playing in a summer bball tournament and tore his patellar tendon.

He did have to take a year off rehabbing but in 2020 resumed his abroad professional career playing in Japan. Ellis averaged 18.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in 47 games for the Vikings. He hit 51.9% of his shots, including 43.7% from three-point range. He continued to play in Japan until at least 2024 and may still be playing at 31 years old.

Nakobe Dean had the same injury and had surgery on January 20th. Today Vic Fangio said he will not do anything and “won’t be back anytime soon.” About 5 months post surgery.

About 5 months post surgery Josh Simmons was moving around doing drills at his pro day.
