Watching that again ... you guys aren't going to believe this ... and, maybe I'm wrong, but I swear I think that's the same cop who lit me up for making a late-night, emergency right turn from the left-hand lane into a Seattle Jack-In-The-Box a couple of years ago (perfectly safe, no traffic, last second decision). He pulled me over in the drive thru lane. Searched the rental car from stem to stern including the trunk. Asked me if I had paintball guns. Crazy ass guy. After he let me go, he was boxed in and had to wait until we ordered and received our food. Looks just like the guy.

Does Seattle have a problem with late night paintball attacks?

If this guy is harrassing people for jaywalking he needs to be fired for wasting tax payer money. That said if you go pushing on cops, expect the worst.

He wasn't harassing anyone...is jay walking a stupid law? yes...but his job is to enforce it regardless...

I'm sure if he were to stand there and say nothing while a kid was hit by a car for doing it the parents would sue the city...no win imo

Yeah....until someone dies because of jaywalking. Then he's not doing his job because he's not protecting them.

Yeah .....cuz then its the police's fault for someone being a dumbass crossing a street when there's traffic coming.

Even a 9 year old can look both ways and cross the street when there's nothing coming.

Jaywalking is one of those laws that is made because there are too many dumbasses in the world. Just like there's a law in STL that states "One can not walk his elephant downtown." (or something similar to that) Because you know what? At sometime or another, some dumb**** decided to walk an elephant in downtown STL and as you would probably assume, it caused a bunch of problems to the surrounding public.

IMO, the jaywalking law is on the same level of stupidity. If your crossing the street and there's traffic coming, don't cross the ****ing street unless you want to get hit by a ****ing car. If you don't want to get hit by a train, then don't walk on the ****ing tracks when the train is coming.

This is a much better video of what happened.

While I disagree with hitting women for any reason, including this one, the cop has every right to defend himself in a situation that is escalating and he is being attacked by two people. She (girl in pink) absolutely had one hand going high and one going low, leading for the cop to think she may have been going for his gun.

The black guy trying to hold back the girl in pink should tell you everything you need to know about who was in the wrong.

The girl getting the original citation could have avoided this in whole if her parents had taught her to respect authority, trouble is that is rare with some people.

LEO's are so handcuffed (pardon the pun) these days when it comes to doing their job...it's not even funny. I even catch myself watching what I'm doing at all times and that's in a small town...never know who's watching, where a camera is at, and what BS complaints will be laid at your feet next.

It's ridiculous.

The minute the cop is in a situation where his perimeter is violated he runs the risk of getting knocked out or his gun getting taken and being killed. Forget the jaywalking, this thing escalated into an attack and the cop lost control and could of been put in danger.

He should of tazed or batoned both of them and cuffed them on the ground.
