He may have a point about the costume, even though I don't think it would have turned out differently. I think combined with a few factors led to his demise, but it was mainly about Fury being a great boxer.

His costume was 40 lbs+ (he usually doesn't have the lighted up eyes and the whole shindig) and he was wearing it 15 minutes before walking out. Wasn't very smart on his part - and he shouldn't have bulked up to 231. He already has one of the most powerful right hands in all of boxing history at 215 lbs.

As far as the corner stopping the fight, he's ALWAYS told his corner to NEVER stop any fight. I can see why he is upset about that, but he has to realize he wasn't going to win the fight. He's only been knocked down once in his pro career prior to the Fury fight, and he had already been battered around and knocked down twice. He had no legs at that point to be able to get any power shot off.
