I can't really blame them though.... I think every long-suffering fanbase shares the same Joe Flacco type of delusions that all your team needs to do is make the playoffs and then anything can happen.

....and then you watch the Patriots for 20 years or Mahomes for many years, and I'm sure many of their fans learned how it's ****ing hard to win in the playoffs and to win every year.

Going back to even mediocrity, much less their dumpster fire this year would be ****ing rough.... spend a decade or two telling every other fan base "yeah, our regular season --- the thing you really love -- is just preseason to us" ...and then suddenly it's all you've got again, and maybe for years or decades to come. Yeah... that would ****ing suck.

The beautiful thing is we are doing it the anti patriots way. Their whole bullshit shtick was around walling off the media and having bellichick grunt his way through press conferences while his lackeys planted everywhere in the media told us it was adorable. And the NFL made money because espn controlled the media and they got ratings for playing the villain.

We are a more dominant version of the warriors. People hate the flashiness but goddamn do they respect it and grudgingly admit that it's fun. Everybody kind of wants to see us win even if they don't to see what we'll do next. Nobody hates Andy Reid. Mahomes is so goddamn likeable the best his haters can do is rip on his family and the refs. They're even trying to use the most likeable superstar on the planet to suck people into hating them... Somehow. Enjoy the ride while we still have Kelce and Reid. we are probably at the pinnacle of popularity but we've got a lot of legacy years ahead of us

Twitter becomes pretty unbearable after every win. First, the opposition fans and every fanbase that hate us break down every play for missed penalties.

Even more than that, we are going the anti patriot way by not cheating. Other fans want to hate that’s fine, but I’ll be sure to let them know that at least we don’t have to hand wave spygate or deflate gate like the previous dynasty - our wins are legitimate.

I don't know what you are seeing to think that this team gets respect. Ask most other teams fans and they'll tell you how we only won because of the refs and Patrick Mahomes wouldn't be shit without Kelce and Reid. I damn sure don't see any other fan base acting like what we are doing is fun and I'm pretty positive no one wants to see us win.

I really do get it. I hate Manning the same way other people hate Mahomes. Doesn't matter that he seems to be a good guy. His commercials still annoy the crap out of me. I understand that the show he does with Eli is good. So what? I'm not going to ****ing watch it. Why? BECAUSE I HATE MANNING, that's why.

Doesn't matter that Pat's a good guy, that he's respectful, that he's not a punk or arrogant or that he married his high school sweetheart. He crushes their dreams, and they hate him for it. Makes perfect sense.

Of course, I don't give a ****. Spent most of my long life on the other side. I like this side much better.

Nope, and when we were losing with Blackledge, and Bill Kenney, then moved on to all-offense or all-defense years, no one gave a shit about us then.

They laughed at us for always being a mediocre regular-season team with hardly any playoff wins while Denver was rattling out Championships.

Finally, we get to the mountain top and all of a sudden the NFL and all 32 owners who are on the board are all in cahoots to get us here.

I hope Pat rattles off six more titles and I can lick Twitter tears until my sons graduate HS, and they don't have to live my Chiefs youth.

Nobody wanted the splash brothers to keep winning in golden state either. Best comparison because those guys, unlike the cowboys of the 90s and the patriots, golden state was actually likeable. I hated them while acknowledging they were super fun to watch.

It's more they hate is cuz they ain't us now. I mean everybody hated Jordan at one time but goddamn everybody respected him. Everybody knows Reid is the best. There was a short moment of amnesia but everyone has settled on mahomes being by far the best and Kelce/mahomes are so far above everyone else that now the debate has shifted to retired patriots.

People watch our games to root against us. But unlike the patriots... Our haters will never want to admit it, but they know we are must see tv. They watch us because they can't look away
