Swayze Bozeman's athleticism shines

Southern Miss linebacker Swayze Bozeman said he knew a lot of the attention would be on Gore, but he hoped Monday would be a chance to impress scouts with his athleticism. He believes he did just that.

He ran an unofficial 4.40 seconds in the 40-yard dash and 6.60 seconds in the three-cone drill, recorded a 10-foot-11 board jump and did 28 reps on the bench press, all of which would’ve ranked first among linebackers at the combine. Bozeman also posted a 36-inch vertical jump, which would’ve been fourth at his position in the combine.

Bozeman, a seventh-year player who spent his first two seasons at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, said he has had conversations with personnel from the Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.

He measured in at 6-1, 224 pounds.
