Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

That's why it sucks.
Have you scouted the college guys at all, the only guy I see outhere who screams franchise to me is johnny manziel, other than that, the rest of the guys are all kind of developmental guys.

I totally understand what you guys are going through, I was pissed Jim brought back alex, and this was before alex had even posted a winning record, but I learned not to question the QB guru about quarterbacks. Alex came in, played well, and won football games, including 6 or 7 4th quarter comebacks.

The team won with alex, not because of or in spite of. He was a part of the machine moreso than the head of voltron, but that is part of what made the 2011 team as good as they were.

You might be right, but as it stands, it is what it is. I can't stay mad and ruin my day over something I can't control. I can only choose to accept what it is and pray for the best. I know we've done this before, and it is sickeningly familiar, but I can't stay angry. It's not healthy. I'm choosing to pray for the best. I can't change teams. Im a fan and that will never change, unless the franchise changes cities and name. And even then, I'm not sure I wouldn't follow them. So, that's it. I'm choosing to accept it and I'm choosing not to tell People to die I an aids fire just cuz they feel differently than I.

Stop gap veterans are acquired via free agency. You don't give up assets to acquire them.

Reid is in 'win now' mode. He's seen the team, and thinks they're good enough to be a playoff team and win. He obviously think Smith is good enough to get the team those postseason wins. Reid has tied his stay in KC to Alex Smith, and he will get four years with Smith to prove he can win with him.

There will be no grooming of a high round QB, unless this team wins less than four games this season. Bank on it.

Brees was actually taken at #32 which would be a 1st round pick now.

Made a good point n said I'm not scared to play young guys. Lol. He was like. This team doesn't ha e to rebuild I did that for them lol. As much as I'm glad he's gone. He knew he had to rebuild and he gave it a go.

If you want to win with alex, you build strong personnel, solid coaching, and a good dependable defense. So lets look at drafting a QB this year:

There is not a #1 overall talent, so cross that off your wish list. So you get a guy later in the first round. You throw him onto a very bad team with a new scheme and you expect that unorganized cluster**** to somehow lead to an eventual superbowl???

Alex gives you time to develop a team that a young QB can take over and do well. have a little respect for a couple of the better QB minds in the game. Reid and Jim harbaugh have both proven to be very good with quarterbacks, and the fact that they both want this guys should tell you a little something about the less obvious things he brings to a football team.
Where are we going to draft that young QB? At 1.1? Nope. At 2.34? Whoops. With next year's second or third? Oh crap.

Andy Reid is 22-26 without Donovan McNabb and Jim Johnson and he just traded two high picks for a guy who no one wanted for free last year.

**** Reid, **** Dorsey, and may the fleas of a million rats infest your every orifice.
