This is so unreal. We were dead. No hope. A season over. Somehow, someway we find some team chemistry and squeak into the playoffs on the last day of the season.

Only to find us facing one of the best pitching staffs assembled in years with home field advantage. We somehow, someway find a way to beat the best pitcher in baseball on the road in an elimination game.

We have to go on the road and beat the team with the best home record in baseball. A team who mortgaged their future to make this run .We somehow, someway find a way to beat them on the road and make our 18th World series trip.

We take game 1, we give away game 2 and home field advantage. Albert goes off for probably the best performance in World Series history and we take game 3 easily. Games 4 & 5 our bats fall asleep, Phone gate happens and its not looking too good.

Game 6, one of the best baseball games of all time and it takes place in a season ending go home game. Cardinals are down 2 runs in their final chance on the season, twice. They are down to their final strike of the season, twice. They give up a 2 run homer in extra innings. In the bottom of the inning their final 3 batters are a combined 3-26 in the Playoffs and a pitcher because the bench is empty. Somehow, someway they get some runners on and the comeback player of the year drives in the tying run. Mr. Freese hits the walk off home run. We will see you tommorrow night.

Game 7, With our bulldog on the mound pitching on 3 days rest he is able to give us 6 good innings and get us to within 9 outs of our 11 World series title. Texas meltsdown, probably left over from last nights game and its over.

The underdog, come back team who had no business even being in the playoffs wins a World championship. They make movies about events like this in life. Events that you remember even if your not a fan of the sport or team for the rest of your life.

When it is your team.......Priceless

another late game 8th inning rally from 5 down after another Loshe meltdown. Got it down to a 1 run ballgame with Pujols/Holliday/Berkman coming up in the bottom of the ninth.

I put these last two games on LaRussa as much as anyone. He never should have put McClellan back on the mound after that delay last night, and he should have had a much quicker hook when it was painfully obvious that Lohse was tiring and couldn't find the zone in the seventh.

Horrible staff management. Yes, part of his pen was tired, but they weren't totally shot either.

I think he doesn't trust his lefty bullpen so he gambled on a ground ball by Loshe.

Might be the sloppiest game I've ever seen in person. Good to get the win, but this is one of the most fundamentally unsound baseball teams I've seen in STL in quite a while.

I would agree that this team plays sloppy baseball but its also showing some signs of being a pretty tough club to beat if they keep believing that they can come back in any game no matter even if they are down 8 runs. Most of the Larussa's teams lately have folded when down. Thats something positive that may help to offset the horrible fundamental baseball this team plays.

Glad to see Albert look "normal" and hit the ball hard several times.

Time to let Jon Jay play CF for a while. Had enough of Rasmus, his laziness, his shitty defense and his .250 average.

He looks like he's trying to hit a home run in every at bat. Didn't I hear he's going through a divorce and a child custody battle?

I'm not ready to give up yet. But I'm getting there. Maybe this just isn't the right situation for him.

I'm happy to still be in first place at the All-Star Break. We have yet to play our best baseball. We can't suffer the injuries in the 2nd half we had in the first half. Besides Berkman, I think every one of our players has a chance to improve in the 2nd half.

There always seems to be an excuse for Rasmus' lackluster play. He and his dad fighting, him and his woman, his stomach issue, his fragile ego ..........

I was at the game last night and there were a LOT of rumblings that echoed this sentiment.

Fans here are willing to be patient with guys that at least show the effort. His laziness in CF has cost us several games, and almost cost us several others, including last night.

It would be foolish to cut ties with a player of Rasmus' potential at this point. What they should do is send him down to AAA for 2-3 weeks once Craig comes back to have him "work on his swing" and his "approach at the plate".

Ya know what gets sand in my vagina?

You guys lose maybe the best player in baseball to injury for a month and stay in or around first place.

My team moves 2 pieces of the future into key positions and proceeds into last.

I know Pujols/team of vets isn't apples to apples with rookies but it doesn't make my butt hurt less.

Him playing everyday in CF? Not so much.

No way he responds well to being sent down. He would just be moody and a problem and blame it all on TLR.
