Thats why OBJ or Hopkins are perfect. Either one is realistically a two year deal.

Im sure we will draft a WR somewhere, this gives the Chiefs time to let the young guy develop.

Im usually begging for a first round WR but I agree, this may not be the year to do it. I really feel like we need an Edge in the first or at least DL. The draft is loaded at those positions this year making it likely we get a really good one, even at 31.

And then you go back and watch him again after his combine results and i feel like you can kinda see that extra gear when it's needed.

To me, Mingo has one of the highest floors in this class. I think you can draft that kid and immediately get a guy who can come in and give you what JJSS gave you, with the potential for a lot more.
100% I love Mingo, and I'm surprised people aren't higher on him.

He looks like ****ing AJ Brown sometimes. His nfl.com profile comparison is Anquan Boldin.

Yea, I listened to an interview with Perry and he's extremely smart so that plays well.

Think so too. Not sure you need to trade up in rd 1 but rd 2 definitely

I think what we're lacking is an 'X' type. A larger, more physical receiver role that Juju played, although a little more speed/explosiveness would be good. We've got a few little guys, but they're going to struggle with press man, I would think.

Mims is another intriguing one.

Again, in MY perfect world, you score OBJ as a cheap 1 year rental, go DL (or maybe even a safety) in the 1st and take a Mingo/Mims etc in the early/mid rounds.

I think the value for the early/mid round WR's is better than the value for projected 1st round guys.

Agreed.

I love Zay Flowers, i just don't know that another small receiver is what this team needs/wants.

There's a guy out in Arizona that's been pretty good at that.

And yeah, a fourth probably gets it done.

Totally. ****ing totally.

I don't wanna throw that AJ Brown tag on him, because goddamn that's lofty, but every time i speak on Mingo i wanna use the AJ Brown comparison. I have to resist using that, but yeah, i agree, dude gives AJ Brown vibes.

I agree.

If somebody like McDonald is there, I'm taking them over Flowers or Hyatt too. But if the EDGE and OT boards just get destroyed, I have no problem taking one of those 2.

IF-the WR room construction of last season with the emphasis on spreading the ball around is the idea-I think we've got those guys in the room already. What we don't have is the bigger, physical receiver that can fight through press man.

AT Perry, Tillman, that type of guy is your prototypical 'X' guy.

Not that we should count on him, but should Justyn Ross be healthy, he's that type of body, too.

But I would still prefer to either sign or draft a guy early to fit that role.

Yea, I don't think his ceiling is quite AJ Brown (but maybe it ****ing is), there's just no denying that there are some flashes that remind you of him.

He's huge and tested extremely well for 6'2" 220.

I'd think one of two positions are going to have a good option there, and it sure seems like the other will have a next tier guy in the second.

They put him on the trading block in the first place.

And every day that goes by, historically in the NFL, the asking price for a given player goes down. They might end up taking a 4th.

But as I've said many times, why would they take KC's 4th when they could take any other team's 4th that would be a better value? So it seems to me like KC would have to offer at least a pair of picks, say one this season and one next, just to be in the conversation. Which is why I think DHop is a longshot at best. Too many other teams can offer more value.

Bottom line though, KC needs to put someone in the WR room they can count on to gain yards, get 1st downs and score TDs at a much higher rate than what we currently have in the room.
