Eh. He at least posted in this thread after getting blowback and acknowledged his takes. Which is better then how a certain prominent chiefsplaneteer has reckoned with his previous-draft takes on Mahomes.

Side note - I have a lot of terrible takes about Tyreek Hill. We all have doozies - and we all seem to have different ways of dealing with them.

Here's part of an interview posted on the Star, link above. In it, Frank speaks to his and Chris Jones' desire to be the best defensive line tandem in NFL history. I say, go for it Frank, you could do it, but remember some Chiefs' history along the way. Buck Buchanan and Curly Culp say hi. You've got some work to do.

What does CP think? After five years, I'd be happy to be able to say their names along with Buck and Curly. but that's a tough two to better. Here's the segment:

It’s the same “we,” at least for the most part. The Chiefs have kept their defensive line largely resembling last year’s group, a point solidified by the long-term extension with Chris Jones.

A point Clark made sure to underscore.

“We look at each other and understand what’s asked of us,” Clark said. “We understand the type of pressure that’s put on players like us. We embrace it too. It’s fun.

“We want to be the two best defensive linemen to ever play the game together. That’s one of the things we always talk about. We got a few years to do something great. That’s the reality of the game. You’ve got a few years to do something great and bet the greatest you can be at doing it. Why not do it?”

We have had some dynamic pairs throughout Chiefs history.

If there was any way Carl could have kept Smith in 97 (unsure it was even possible), I'm convinced that 97 Chiefs team goes to the Super Bowl with Thomas and Smith (critically, Denver also doesn’t derail KC’s first half drives without Neil)

Jones and Clark could give this defense an identity that shines on its own from the Chiefs offense. Can you imagine this offense paired with a Top 5 defense? Geeeez. We're talking greatest team in NFL history potential here.

Excluding the Mahomes draft trade, the trade for Frank is the riskiest move this franchise has made in a long time. When we made that trade and I saw the compensation we gave up, I didn’t think there was any way to justify giving up that much.

When you know, you know. Veach isn’t the one who knew IMO. Spags and his staff gave him the grocery list and asked him to get these guys...and Veach delivered.

Props to Veach for coordinating the trade offloading Peters dumbass and raping the Rams to make that trade not as damaging as it looked on paper.

We’ve all learned from last year. Draft picks are nice, but if you’re picking last and have money to make it work, use those goddamn picks on young ballers.

Seahawks have obviously learned and did the same thing we did in our trade with them by trading for a top 5 safety.

This needs to be the new thing in the NFL. The Chiefs don’t regret the Frank Clark trade. The Steelers don't regret The Minkah Fitzpatrick trade and the Seahawks won’t regret the Jamal Adams trade.

They've got rings on their fingers and deals to keep them here a while. That's a really good start.
