Watched "In the Electric Mist" over the weekend. I had never heard of it before seeing it on a Blu-Ray new release list. Since it starred Tommy Lee Jones and John Goodman I gave it a shot. Pretty enjoyable mix of small town cop investigating a few murders, corruption and dark humor.
Also rented Transporter 3. Great flick to watch on Blu-Ray with the sound and visuals. It was pretty much as expected but with more dumbass shit thrown in this time around. |

I watched one last night on Cinemax that had the same fate, the 2007 film "The Flock" starring Richard Gere and Claire Danes, which I had never heard of until I saw the TV listing. It's a poor man's version of "Seven", I gave it a 4 stars out of 10. The film had a budget of $35 million and took in zero U.S. dollars and just over $5 million outside the U.S. If you want to rent a good movie, checkout "Let the Right One In". It's not available at Red Box but Blockbuster has it. It's a 2008 Swedish film that came out around the same time as "Twlight" but without all the publicity. When you watch it, don't choose the English dubbing, but just English sub-titles so you'll get the full effect. It's a vampire film but it's more realistic than the norm, I gave it 8 stars out of 10. |
