I'm not against it, because it's Deandre Hopkins, but I doubt Veach wants to invest that way.

But if he did, it would potentially solve our yards, 1st downs and TD issues in one guy.
Well, we don't really have such issues, as we were better in all of those things than anyone else in football, but I agree that we should be trying to keep stacking talented players.

Oh for sure.

Based on the hype he probably has a few teams trying to get bad fast.

Heard there might be one other guy who might be able to make it closer.

If we're getting into giving up our 2nd or 3rd rounder, I'd rather do it for a DE or DT.

Actually, we do. The WRs we have in the room account for less than half of the room's yards, less than half of their first downs and just 4 out of 13 TDs from 2022.

To put that into a little perspective, that's Pat throwing for just 3,500 yards, about 80+ less 1st downs, and 32 TDs, not 41.

It also means that out of the 9 games KC won by fewer than 4 points, we probably lose 2-3 more of those. Plus, more games would've been decided by 4 or fewer points than just the 9 last season.

And that's what I mean by 'the margin is getting thin.' 9 out of 17 games were decided by less than 4 points in 2022. Before 2022 we averaged just 6 or something like that. If we can't replace at least those numbers from last season, we can expect that it'll be more than 9 games decided by 4 or less points. And we can also mathematically expect that more of those will result in Ls.

And I want you to think about that 9 for a second. That's more than half of the 17 regular games. That hasn't happened since the days of Alex Smith.

We had an almost entirely new WR room. I expected we would struggle more than we did, to be honest. But as for distribution of yardage I don't really care when we're 1st in football AND first in scoring. Weren't we first in 'explosive' plays as well? I don't remember. Anyway, the only problem we have is that Kelce's getting older, so we definitely need to be developing the other positions. There's always room for improvement but there's no cause for panic. We can bring back everyone but Juju if we want, and reasonably expect them to be better in year two

Although I expect they add some new faces, I just doubt it's Hopkins or OBJ

Lolz, I'm not panicking, I'm just telling it like it is. Now, I fully expect Toney and Skyy to be more productive in 2023. But how much more? Between the two just to get back to last season's efficiency, they'd have to account for more than 1,500 yds, 80+ 1st downs and 9 TDs more than what they did last season.

But your argument seems to be "the TEs and RBs will make up the difference!"

Like they did last season? We're just expecting that Gray and Pacheco are going to compile receiving numbers that would be 400-500+% better than last season?

Just so KC can hopefully win 76% of those '4 points or less' margin of victory games?

You really comfortable with that? I'm not. It doesn't even sound reasonable.
