I'm sure it's nothing more than Hendricks getting to Toronto and getting on their special "weight-conditioning" program.

It's amazing how much 'stronger' position players and pitchers tend to get once they arrive in Toronto . . . . must be the air up there or something . . . . .

Liam Hendriks' FB averaged 91.3 last year as a starter and 94.9 as a reliever this year (3.6 MPH difference).

Wade Davis' FB averaged 92.1 as a starter in 2013 and 95.8 as a reliever the last two years (3.7 MPH difference).

Hmm...yeah, DJLN might be on to something here. Maybe I should be throwing out my own unsubstantiated PED accusations whenever Wade comes in?

Davis' velocity jumped about 4 mph when he was moved to the bullpen. He worked routinely at 92 as a starter, he sits routinely at 96 in relief. Hendriks had a similar boost when he was moved to the 'pen (in fact, his was even a little less than that).

I think it's folly to assume that anyone is clean in sports, but calling out a reliever because his velocity jumped when he left the rotation is a little odd.
Did Hendriks' jump when he went to the pen? I don't remember his speed being that high out of the pen last year.
