The "I just got back from the gym" and this is what I have eaten thread.

Okay, so there are a ton of guys in here that are working out, trying to work out, or 'thinking' about working out.

So, I figured I would start a thread. I am all about making myself accountable. The more people that I tell about working out, the more people I would let down by not going.

If you go to the gym.... then post here when you get back. If you do P90X, post here when you get done. If you ride the excercise bike.... post it here.

Anything you do to get in shape.... share with the board. I know I have gotten some great advice and feedback.

Also, post what you eat. If you post everything you eat, and you know others will be critical, you may think twice before you grab a Twinkie.

Okay, so, I went to the gym. I did five minutes on the cross climber to warm up. I stretched for about three minutes.

Then, I did three sets of squats with just 135. I did back extensions and hanging leg lifts. Three sets each. I did leg curls, calf extensions, abductor and adductor excercises as well.

On my leg day, I do very light chest exercises to work on my explosive power. I do three sets of six pushups as explosively as I can. I throw the excercise ball up like a chest pass while laying on the bench.

Then, I finished off my workout with 30 minutes on the eliptical.

As far as my diet.

Breakfast two pieces of peanut butter whole wheat toast, protein shake, and banana.

I have had another banana, two yogurts, and a handful of cashews as snacks.

I didn't have a 'lunch' per se.

Kids had sloppy joes with lean beef (as if that makes it great).... I took a baked potato, and put a serving of sloppy joe over it, with jalapenos and 2 oz's of lowfat cheddar cheese.

I have also had shotgun with water, and synthesize with water.

I won't eat again before bed.

Okay, I know putting everything down here will open me up to criticism. I know some will think that I am doing things all wrong. I appreciate any advice, but I have done a lot of reading and talking to trainers.... so, I have an idea of what I am doing.... or at least what I think I am doing.

The point of this thread, isn't to get into pissing matches about how to do things.... but rather to give ourselves a gold star for making an effort.

Try not to beat anyone down on this thread, because this is about encouragement.

*My diet is about 2000 calories. I also take ALOT of laxatives and Im grateful that it helps me go because I don't get enough from this diet. Plus, I take 1 multi-vitamin pill a day, and a few digestive enzymes, I also take 1 vitamin B-12, and I drink lots of green tea, maybe like 4-5 cups a day. Oh, and I use stevia to put into my tea as a sweetner. I drink 6-7 litres of water per day.

Come on, guys. WTF? Are you all slipping?

Had a soccer game last night. Won 3-1. That was my exercise.

Got up and went to spin this morning, even though my legs were tired and sore and I didn't want to. I'm really glad I did.

Well, I knew last night would be a challenge... and it was. One of my good friends cares very little about what he eats, so we went to Fuddruckers. I love a good hot dog, so I had the Dogzilla..... and fries. Yeah, probably 1000 calories right there with the coleslaw on top. Drank Sweet tea.

I found that the dog itself had 420 calories, and I assume the texas toast bun is near 300 by itself, and then add on the fries, and it may be conservative at 1000.

Have to admit, though, it was delicious....

Missed my workout. By the time I got home from work, I had to get ready to go out. About to leave for the gym. I have had a protein shake, two servings of carrots, and a banana. When I get home, I will have an egg salad sandwich and cottage cheese.

Doing chest today since I missed it yesterday.

My calves have been ridiculously tight since I went to the gym yesterday. I'm wondering if it was the basketball. I have a 5 mile run that I was planning on today.

I'm going to give it a shot. I haven't failed on one of these yet. Hopefully today won't be the day.

Measured my bodyfat this morning, Im now 15.5% BF.

Went from 18% to 15.5% in 1 month. There is both good news and bad news to this.

First off, I want to say, my goal is to get ripped by mid July.

Okay, that's out of the way, and Im going to start off with the bad news. Bad news is, I lost 1.5 lbs of muscle tissue which kinda sucks. Good news is, I lost 6.5 pounds of fat this past month. Lost a total of 8 lbs this month. 1.5 of is muscle tissue, and 6.5lbs of it is fat.

Im totally convinced that when one gets ripped, they are BOUND to lose muscle to tissue. that's just the way it is. So Im gonna expect it along the way as my goal is to lose another 8lbs in the next 4 weeks. Hopefully I won't be sacrificing to much muscle tissue along the way.

Now! I'll report back when it's done. Hopefully I'll have made it. 5 miles is a big milestone for me, and the farthest I'll go until I get my mile time under 10 minutes.

Yeah, that's happened to me before... but never to the point they bled. It's a miserable experience.

Mine haven't bled, but they chafe to a painful point at least twice a week. I'm going to try some kind of cream like vasoline first. If that doesn't work I may have to invest in some nip guards.

Although I'm fat enough, I could just buy a sports bra.
