Haley will serve as guest analyst on ESPN show

Haley will serve as guest analyst on ESPN show
Former Chiefs coach Todd Haley, fired on Monday after the team’s 37-10 loss to the New York Jets, will be a guest analyst tomorrow on the ESPN show “Audibles,” which will air from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. He’ll appear alongside regular analysts Keyshawn Johnson, Trent Dilfer and Jerry Rice.

An ESPN communications executive described the show as having a viewer-controlled format, allowing the analysts to answer questions.

Haley spent less than three seasons as Chiefs coach before being fired Monday.

I could be wrong.... but the whole image of Scott Controli just doesn't fit the way that Crennel has handled things so far.
My gut tells me Clark had a sit down with Pioli and said the way things are being done isn't working. Time to try things my way.

Say what you want about Clark but I think the image of the Hunt family and how they are percived to handle things is important to him and the whole veil of secrecy asshole thing didn't fit.

Haley ran over Sensible's dog.

But he sure would like to have a beer with the guy.

With or without Haley on there, it was a pretty decent show. Better than most NFL talk shows.

The bottom line is that EVERYBODY said Todd Haley was a different person when he wasn't trying to keep up the CIA act. To pretend that all of this is on Haley is ignorant in the extreme.
Romeo is the anti Haley. He is a team guy. He doesn't have Haley's ego. He is mature, he gets the big picture. He understands that there will be disagreements and he doesn't hold a grudge.

I am not putting it all on Haley, but to act like it is ALL Pioli is ridiculous.

Toddler Haley was a petulant child. He had no business leading men. A good head coach is a consensus builder. A good head coach is able to bridge the gaps between people, not drive a wedge in them to make them wider.

If you think the same guy that got a 15 yard penalty on the sidelines is the level headed one in the Pioli/Haley relationship, then I think any logic will be pretty much lost on you.

The Pioli/Haley relationship didn't exist at that point. Haley was childish and ran the team into the ground at the end to piss Pioli off. Pioli was childish for leaking info and not having the balls to do his job and fire a coach that he didn't think was doing a good job.

I never said it was ALL Pioli. And I most certainly never said Haley was level-headed.

You description of Crennel belies your opinion of Haley. It's quite possible that Romeo is NONE of the things you say, it's just that he doesn't have any reason to keep selling Pioli's snake oil. He's 20 years Haley's senior, has been a HC in the league, and has multiple Super Bowl rings.

But I'm sure the more plausible explanation is that Pioli has no veil of secrecy at all, Romeo is a total gentleman, and Haley is just childish, right? Because it was Haley's policy to make sure all the blinds were closed and the media were locked in their room, unable to go to the bathroom.

Wow. I guess we will make up whatever stories we have to in order to make Pioli the villain.

We have one guy who dresses like a Hobo, insists on playing Palko, gets a 15 yard penalty on the sidelines, and is known for blowing up at players and coaches......

Yet, Pioli is the control freak that created the problem. And, now, less than a week later, Hunt sat down with Pioli and made him change it.

Don't you think that Clark could have just as easily sat down with Pioli over the last 2 and a half years while Haley was still the head coach?

Why wait until they fired Haley?

Heck, I don't know. Maybe you are right.

Heck, maybe all the illogical arguments that condem Pioli and make Haley out to be a victim are right. Maybe all the good draft picks were Haleys and the bad ones were Piolis, when he refused to listen to Haley.

I mean, all of that makes so much sense. I just don't see why I am having trouble buying into it.

You and me both. But then off of this board, I think this view is more widely held. Also, depending on what sports radio station and program you listen to.

Who is making Haley the victim. We just aren't going to let Pioli throw it all on Haley and run away free of blame. I think I get pissed off at your comments half because of what you say, and half because of the irony of your screen name. Sensible people see grey, you seem to be seeing black and white here.

Your argument is that the ENTIRE facade they've put up for the last 2.5 seasons came from Haley.

Haley put the locks on the doors and Pioli allowed it. Haley made them close the blinds and Pioli just allowed it.

Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?

Making Haley the victim?

Obviously, making Haley the scapegoat fooled a few people. Good work, Scott.

The simple fact is that they are ALL culpable. Season's like this don't happen because of one man.

Exactly.

The world is black and white. Haley is guilty, Pioli is untouchable.
