I posted that based on the conversation pioli had when he said he didn't want to pay QB's big money till they did something

The QB he was talking about was Flacco and how he disagreed with that contract size.

It's football, not rocket science.

Reid doesn't have a different route tree than anyone else in the NFL.

It's just another example of poor talent evaluation on the coaching staff's part or maybe, Reid just didn't trust him because he was a rookie (which IMO, is the more likely scenario).

This, coupled with treating Stephenson like a red-headed step-child in favor of McGlynn was dumb beyond belief. Does anyone actually believe that Stephenson's play dropped off the cliff because he missed the first four games of the season? That he somehow became worse than McGlynn or Linkenbach or Harris, after filling in admirably for Albert last year? If they weren't going to play him, cut him or trade him for a 7th.

What a waste of a season for him.

It's funny how people progress thru their analysis of a season.
The Chiefs won if Reid called a good game and lost if he called a bad game. This should have been a 10 game winner, at minimum, but Andy Reid is directly responsible for losses to Arizona, Oakland, San Francisco and of course, Tennessee.

Yup. Gotta wonder what their plan is for next season. OL and weapons for our retread QB.

Yep. His absolutely atrocious game plan in the Raiders TNF game killed my interest in the season.

Three different GMs all making the same decision at the most important position in football.

It's Lamar and Clark calling for retreads. To say otherwise is idiocy.
The 90s we had good records so we never were in a position to get one. Look up the 90s draft and find all the stud QB we passed on.

Green was DV's guy from the second he was hired. Pioli was a moron who thought Cassel would be Brady and sunk because of it. Dorsey's options were alex smith, geno, or EJ. Alex, although limited, was by far the best of those three.

Herm and Carl have both said they would have taken Matt Ryan over Dorsey if he had been there. Carl was prepared to take Quinn before Cleveland traded up. Why would they lie to cover for someone that fired them.

The only stud first round QB that we have passed on was aaron Rodgers and that was a huge mistake. I wanted Bridgewater so he may be another.

Well if this season is any indication, Jamaal Charles should be good until he's 35 because the Chiefs are running the ball 11 times a game and throwing it 45.

Scratch him off my list then but it doesn't undermine my point.

Lamar won the SB with a retread in Dawson. After they failed to develop Blackledge then it became clear to them that getting another team's backup was the better option than taking a risk in the draft.

Blaming Lamar Hunt for anything the Chiefs did from 1971-1989 is fruitless. He was an absentee owner that didn't care that his NFL team went 15 full seasons without a playoff appearance. He didn't care that the Chiefs were perrenial losers and laughingstocks. He didn't care that there were numerous blackouts each season and less than 35,000 at Arrowhead each week.

The only reason he cared in 1989 is because of Jerry Jones. Jones was key in getting a new TV deal, which led to "Plan B" free agency and eventually free agency and the salary cap. If the NFL was as popular today as it was in the 80's, Kansas City wouldn't even have a team anymore.

Ford's true value will noticeable next year when, when Hali's gone. He's done a great job in with third rounders (Gaines and Davis) a good job with 4th rounders (DAT & Nico Johnson, who now starts for the playoff Bengals) and so on.

What truly sucks is that an undrafted free agent player like Wilson stands on the sidelines for 13 weeks but once he's given a chance, proves that he should have been starting all season long.

Again, Andy Reid is a bozo.

Excellent post. While i still think dorsey is obsessed with speed, its impossible to argue with the results, hes brought in dozens of solid players. But i especially agree with the Albert Wilson part. Its not only just him either. DAT got what 2 jet sweeps a game for most of this season? they didn't move around, or bench any lineman. Kelce playing 25% of the snaps earlier in the season. How long did it take for Schwartz to crack the lineup last year? Kush looked good in the preseason, no chance given at a guard spot?

Sutton has done a great job with the talent he has, but he's just as guilty as reid in that regard. Bailey showed flashes last year, and sat on the bench. Parker and Abdullah (two solid players) both sat on the bench last year behind lewis and demps. Vickerson, and Walker are both proven vets who are both capable of giving poe a breather and actually making plays while hes out, and he hardly uses either. Mays is clearly a much better run stopper than Mauga and JMJ, and he took forever to get him back into the defense.

Not a bad haul considering we spent year 2 playing it very safe with spending.

If Dorsey chose to focus on the oline, we'd be bitching about our secondary and DLine. Dorsey has made some questionable moves, but he's not the problem right now.
