KJ Adams is averaging 16 points per game in conference play.

He’s on his way to honorable mention all conference.

Here’s where the run starts. Adams’ screen allows Harris to get a step on his man. Groves has to collapse on Harris to cut him off. Good feed from Harris. Adams does the rest.

Porter is going to annoy the shit out of us for a while. I bet he cant wait to get rid of those Groves brothers so he can get his team to defend better. He's coaching them up though.

Yeah, we might get caught off guard once but Self will beat it.

KJ’s numbers might skyrocket though.

I missed it, I wasn't listening to the commentary much.

Awesome.

RE: OU, they played pretty well. They had a stretch there where they made some REALLY tough (they were bad takes, good makes) shots that had no business going in. That's really fun to watch, even from my couch as a KU fan, but over the course of time, those aren't going to go in and teams will pull away from OU. They really need those Groves ****s hitting 3's to pull teams out of their defense. They defended pretty well most of the time. I think they can't hang with the bigger more post oriented teams in the league, but it will be as interesting of a conference season as there has been. OSU is 1-3 and took us and KSU to the brink. We'll see how teams handle losing (hopefully not us) but this is a goddamned gauntlet of a conference season.

K State is playing well, but that WVU team we just beat down took them to OT. That Tech team that we barley beat just got destroyed by Iowa State.

It’s going to be a really mixed bag this year. Any win is a good win.
Absolutely, there are going to be some absolute knock down drag outs. Whatever team can make it out of the conference into the tournament healthy is going to be tested.

KJ... hoo boy. I really have no idea where I'm at on the kid. Last year I was all about him. I love thick strong dudes that can play. They can do so much to help you win and I loved his energy.

Then this year they were running shit for him and it was cover your eyes bad. Holy balls. Now, he's limited a lot of the stupidest shit, but still misses a lot of point blank looks at the bucket and his confidence is obviously higher than his competency in the post. But damn he's made a lot of good plays.

I wonder if that isn't the game plan these days. "Make Adams beat you". looking at KCC's post, that's probably right. OU took it a little far with him getting wide open dunks. Best thing is he's executing those. And he's rebounding pretty well for his length, and best of all managing the space well, so great, fire away at selling out on Dick and Wilson.

Good post. Thanks.

It's good to see KJ execute those...I'm not sure Clemence does. Sidenote, I love Harris. I wish he was a better scorer, but as a fan of technically sound ball, I love Harris. Hopefully his wrist is OK.

On the McCullar drive you posted, didn't they put in a rule for flopping? I mean, McCullar didn't even make contact before he bailed out. Not only is that a flop, but that's a horribly executed flop. My buddy asked me isn't that a technical? I mean, that's asking a lot of this crew but holy shit. That's ALL that's wrong with basketball. I'd be all about tightening up on the physicality if they'd also hammer the worst of those mother****ers.

The right way to do it is play in the middle ground so you can play both plays. Giving ANY D-1 college ball player an empty lane and you're going to get scored on.

They need to shade Dick, but you can't completely sell out. As limited as our guys are offensively, no help anywhere will get you beat.

If I'm doing it, early, I sell out on Dick, but pull a play or 2 that I crash the lane on help. Much like Spags will show one coverage and fall into another at the snap, I'd try to show one thing and do another, but with as quick as Gradey's trigger is that is hard.
