This has probably already been said, but after seeing all the pomp and circumstance that went into the Chiefs’ pick— the Lombardy trophy presentation, the live band, the fireworks—it really seems like either the NFL or Clark Hunt prohibited us from trading our pick, up or down. The 31st pick has been choreographed for weeks.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I'm glad we didn't pick a WR, including Hyatt. I get the need but at 31 there was absolutely noone i didn't think was a reach, and I still feel how I felt months ago...it's not a good year for WRs so let's not overspend. I think Felix was probably BPA in one of our areas of need.

Brett Veach said the offers of trading down would've put the Chiefs in the mid 40s. Veach said the Chiefs kept it simple & took their highest-graded prospect in Felix Anudike-Uzomah.

I'm confident we were after Nolan Smith. Nobody wants to deal with Veach.

With that said, Felix is a solid pick. The NFL scouting combine helped his draft stock in a big way. Pro comparison is Robert Quinn according to this guy.

It seems that way. Veach is so good that AFC teams won’t deal with him unless they think they can fleece KC.

I agree with this and to go with it I'll say Felix The Cat will have a bigger impact on this team this year then any of the WRs taken in the 1st round. We have a good young secondary so lets rush the passer.

In the highlights I've watched this guy seemed to cause fumbles. That's a big positive for sure.

They basically did do it before the draft when Mahomes and Kelce walked out with the trophy. They just doubled up and did it again at the end for first and foremost fan service and, secondly, to say, “Hey, the rest of ya’ll in the NFL - suck our big red dicks.”
