Peters/Berry/Parker/Gaines/Nelson is still an above average secondary.

I'm really not sure our secondary will be any worse than last year.

Sure we lost Sean Smith, who's a big corner whom you never know if his level of play could drop soon at age 29. I'll say he will probably this year be just as good as last year though.

We've got Peters/Gaines/Nelson at corner who are all possibly on the rise and probably a better 4th CB in Russell than Nelson last year.

As for safety, we lost Branch and Abdullah but between Brown, Sorensen, Murray and Cooper, I don't think we have downgraded much there. And I don't think it's out of question that Berry could show us his best form yet this year.

All in all, I really expect Gaines and Nelson to show us a decent level of play this year.

We had something like $400k in cap space before we signed Nick Foles.

I loved the Reid hire because he would be great at recovering the franchise and bringing us back to respectability. I also said we need to be ready to move on in 5 years because Reid has a ceiling, ala Marty.

You're on crack, we don't even know if Ford is good enough to start in the NFL right now. Not to mention that at Hali's age he could fall off a clip at any time.

I don't recall, Laz, but perhaps you do. Did Reid hit his ceiling back when he also had GM and coaching duties? Hopefully, without the GM duties, this will free him up to be more creative with his coaching duties? Also, it seems that he has a pretty strong coaching staff around him too -- that never hurts. In any regard, I'd be pleased to have Reid as HC for several more years. Guy is good.

If we're still popping off +.500 seasons into year 5 I'd say there's 0% chance they move on from Reid unless Belichick somehow gets a hard-on for KC.

Reid is a fantastic coach. The players absolutely love him. And players any to play for him like Maclin and Foles.

Except Reid has made it to the Super Bowl. He lost by 3 points to a historically great team without his most dynamic player.

That is hilarious. Even though he gave us the biggest **** YOU ever with the Cassel trade after putting his golden boy on IR, I don't think that was enough to let bygones be bygones.

JFC.

31 wins in 3 years.....
Yeah, better start thinking of his replacement.

One of the reasons teams flounder at .500 or worse levels is because of coaching and or managerial turnover. Chiefs finally have the stability in both management and coaching the franchise has sought for decades.

The majority of franchises in the NFL would envy the Chiefs situation right now.

We don't know if Ford's a starter because we don't know if he's a complete player. That doesn't change the fact that he led the NFL in pressures his first month starting, and is already a solid pass rusher that should only improve going forward.

As for Hali, he's as healthy and fresh as he's been in years. There's pass rushers all over the NFL that are older than him and still effective. He's got at least one year left in him.

Also, I love how everybody is completely ignoring the DL when it comes to the pass rush. Pressure up the middle is even more effective and we have 4 different guys that we can rotate. Howard, Poe, Bailey, and Jones are all capable of putting up 6+ sacks this year.
