I bet money we are drafting O line in the first round. Besides Beadles, the FA market is thin at guard and Andy loves his fat guys.... Unless we make a move on a center and decide to move Hudson to his natural position- it's looking more and more like Swanson or Mathews might be a Chief

shit...well that's disappointing.

I admit thought when I saw the RT plan it was gonna be more than that. I'd have paid him that easy to play start at RG or LG, plus emergency RT in a pinch.

The only reasons I can think of as to why we weren't able to re-sign Schwartz are:

1. He didn't want to play here and wanted to play for NY.

2. Our FO and coaches want a dominant OL, not just a passable one and were prepared to let Schwartz go in favor of drafting a better prospect this year in a draft that is very strong along the OL. They may also think that we might already have an answer in-house.

Only things I can come up with for not getting a deal done with Schwartz.

It would be one thing if you were counting on Fisher, and Kelce, and Commings to all take a big step forward.

But they appear to be expecting Fisher, and Johnson, and Cooper, AND Commings, AND Kelce...

WR, OL, CBs, DL/LBs

You can bet that our top 4 picks will look something like that.
