Feel free to discuss any future speculation, theories. Anything from the books is fair game to post. Everything that has been broadcast on TV or from HBO. No spoilers needed.

  1. If you watched or know the events that will take place in a unaired episode that has not been broadcast on HBO, you must put all the information and comments in a spoiler tag.
  2. Do not post any media of any kind involving actual content from unaired episodes without being in a spoiler. The only exception to the spoiler rule is content publicly posted from HBO and or the GOT actor themselves. Teasers, promos, trailers etc.

Any person unable to follow the spoiler rules will be banned from this thread. 14 days for first offense. Perm banned from the thread for a 2nd offense.

Eh, I don't know if it's the show pretty much doing whatever they feel like, or giving the best character in the series, Tyrion, very little to do up to now but I've been underwhelmed so far. Kinda bored actually

As others have said, praise the directors that they didn't stick to the books. The viewing audience would be in full scale revolt.

Well, maybe. If memory serves, Dany is still in Mereen dealing with the Sons of the Harpy in the books also, and Martin may well have envisioned this also. Who knows.

But more importantly -- get used to them getting further and further away from teh books. Martin has a Robert Jordanesque problem in closing loose plot points and trending toward a conclusion. He is spending too much time meandering through the world he has created and which he seems to love so much he never wants to leave.

Figure HBO ends this series after season 7. That means they are 2/3rds of the way through it NOW. They only have 25 or so episodes left to do EVERYTHING they need to do. Everything they do should be done with THAT in mind.

Makes me wonder if they're going to totally bypass the Jon Snow ending to ADWD, they certainly have no qualms in killing off major characters but he's a staple to some of the viewing audience.

I feel Daenerys and Jon Snow are about as safe as can be.

So a question for people who have read the books so far....

Are you happy with how the show has changed stuff in the books? Irate? I know the whole Stoneheart thing is a hot button topic....but what about everything else?
