I wonder if it was the Jets that offered him $4m + incentives bc of Rodgers, but they did give Lazard $11m per so maybe it was KC.

Zach Pascel to Arizona and Trent Sherfield to the Bills. The WR wave is still to pick up now.

Sherfield is a nice pickup for the Bills. Damn I'd have liked him here.

He's just an awfully hard guy to figure out.

He has $80+ million in career earnings so he's not a guy looking for his first big payday.

But he's not a veteran ring chaser either - he got one in LA and yeah, he got hurt in the SB, but after he pulled in a TD grab and after he was instrumental in getting them there in the NFC Championship game.

He's 31 years old - I don't see any way that a late career resurgence gets him into the Hall or anything. He's been very probably the best WR in the NFL already so he doesn't need to prove himself to anyone.

I just don't know what pressure points exist with the guy. If I'm him I just go play somewhere I want to live and that's about it. If I liked my time with the Giants, I call up those east cost squads. If I enjoyed LA, then I call the west coast teams.

Something tells me he didn't enjoy his time in Cleveland so that probably doesn't help us much.

All I can figure is that maybe Reid's "Let your players be themselves" stuff could potentially appeal to his mercurial nature. But beyond that, I just don't know what to sell to this guy.

40 guys out there just like him.

He's as JAG as they get, IMO.

If Sherfield takes any snaps away from Davis (who admittedly struggled last year but absolutely has talent) then I'm also a fan of Buffalo signing him.

I don't think Veach will do anything more than an incentive type deal and OBJ isn't taking that for the reasons you've just laid out. I don't think he's a legitimate option to come to KC at this point. Unless he just wants to see what it's like to play with someone like Mahomes.

Mr DJ's Left Nut, that is a lucid, well thought-out, intelligent response.

I don't get the sense that anybody else is willing to give OBJ what he wants either.

The Cowboys are out.

That basically leaves the Chiefs, Jets, and Ravens.

The Jets have already signed Lazard. The Ravens have a huge question mark at QB.

Have you watched any of the XFL? If you have, did you see any players that you think could play on Sundays that may help the team?

I may be higher on him than most, read a nice piece on him recently seemed like a hard worker, good dude.

No clue the cost, thought he'd be a nice cheap signing with some upside.

Are there really many snaps to be had with the Jets at WR at this point? You gotta figure Cobb ends up there as well.

I dunno, seems like he's kinda played himself out here.

I don't see KC the city itself being a cultural fit for OBJ

Yea, I don't see it with Wilson, Moore, and Lazard. Once you throw Cobb into the mix, there's really not enough targets or money to go around.
