The Cardinals have good ownership. Involved but let the professionals make the decisions.

You guys could one day do what the Cardinals have done. It's possible. It's not about the money.

  • The team that was on the field when we won the World Series had 7 out of 9 players that were drafted or developed by the Cardinals.
  • We currently only have 9 players on our roster from that 2011 WS Championship team. We have the best record in baseball.
No reason that can't happen in KC for you guys.

Hell, it'll be hard enough to get past Lynn and/or hold off Martinez. Lynn's only sporting a sub 3.00 ERA and a 7-1 record after making the All-Star team as a rookie. And for as great as Rosenthal's fastball is, Martinez might actually have a better one due to the sink he gets on it.

I'm hopeful that Martinez and Rosenthal can both stick in the rotation as they both have greater upside than Wacha, IMO. And really, the closer of the bunch still looks like Swagerty to me. I know he had the TJ surgery, but if he comes back, that fastball/slider combo says back end of the bullpen all the way.

This stretch of hitting has been just incredibly bad. Not even a higher scoring game where the pitching sucks but the hitting is there and we still lose. Just horrible hitting....
